Oh wow, will compare and see if there is a difference. The Bhuvan geoserver
has multiple files:
postal:post_public_all
postal:post_public_all_nm
postal:post_public_state
postal:post_public_state_m
postal:post_public_state_m_ct
postal:post_public_state_m_vt
postal:post_public_state_nm

>From what i could make out it looks like postal:post_public_all_nm is the
most comprehensive. Any clue as to why they are different and what the
suffixes could mean?

Hi Bodhi, your wiki contributions are amazing and legendary!

For post offices have found the dataset on Bhuvan with 177k+ post offices.

Preview:
http://bhuvannuis.nrsc.gov.in/bhuvan/postal/wms?service=WMS=1.1.0=GetMap=postal:post_public_all_nm==44.2407674,8.0826633,95.7550416,33.6035662=768=380=EPSG:4326=application/openlayers

Like with all Bhuvan layers, you can use format=rss to get the data in xml
vector format, its over 500mb, but not directly usable since the attributes
is formatted in html and needs a fair bit of processing using . I can try
to cleanup and share in a day.

Can you provide some more details:
- What kind of maps are you looking for? Why not just use Google maps?
- By official sources, you mean only those from the government?

[datameet] Coordinates needed

2019-02-12 Thread Bodhisattwa Mandal
Hi all,

I am a volunteer contributor in Wikidata. Recently, we are working to
increase data about villages, schools, colleges, hospitals etc. in West
Bengal. The details can be found here -
https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Wikidata:WikiProject_West_Bengal .

Now, the database, which we are working on about schools, colleges and post
offices are missing coordinates and hence we are hesitant to upload them to
Wikidata. It would be great, if it is possible for you to use your
expertise and get us the coordinates, then we can match and upload the data
into Wikidata.

Thanks in advance,
Bodhisattwa

[datameet] Daily evapotranspiration data

2019-02-12 Thread balsher . sidhu
Hello all,

I am a newbie to Datameet, and I am pleasantly surprised by the awesome
work being done here.

I need daily evapotranspiration data, from 1960-present, for a project. The
spatial resolution required is at district level. I could even work with
gridded data.

Please let me know if you have any information of the existence of such
data, either observational or synthetically generated from other climate
variables.

Cheers,
Balsher
