Did you rebuild the DSP-side Server (*.x64P) with Link 1.40.05 and CE
1.20, too?
DSP Link libraries are linked into both GPP and DSP side executables, as
are Codec Engine (and Framework Components) libraries. AFAIK, the DVEVM
DSP-side binaries are provided pre-built, and there's [currently] no
DVEVM release that includes support for Link 1.40.05 nor Codec Engine
1.20.
I don't think the DVEVM includes the facility to rebuild the servers
(not quite sure about that). Others on the list may be able to help
understand options for getting the codecs and server build scripts
(might involve contacting an ASP) to enable you to rebuild the DSP
server with 1) DSP Link 1.40, and 2) Codec Engine 1.20.
All that said, Link 1.40 and CE 1.20 are standalone products, so you can
use them in your own custom apps (assuming you can rebuild your own
apps/servers)... though you may struggle with integrating them into
today's DVEVM demos. :(

Thank you Deepali,
I was hoping that was the case. I still cannot get the codec
engine to
open. Is there a compatability problem with the versions of
components I am
using?
Thanks for your time,
Jeremy

Jeremy,
Regarding issue 1:
This message is just a warning and will not have any effect of
execution.
The warning is coming because DSP/BIOS Link does not use the kernel
build system and also it is not under the same license as the kernel
itself.
Regards,
Deepali

Subject: Need help building DSPLINK 1.4
I am using:
kernel (2.6.10) built from source provided from DVEVM 1.10
codec_engine_1_20
U-boot version 1.1.3
I can build a dsplinkk.ko but when I try to insmod it I get:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/opt/dvevm# insmod dsplinkk.ko
dsplinkk: no version for struct_module found: kernel tainted.
DSPLINK Module (1.40.05) created on Date: Jul 9 2007 Time: 16:44:18
I have added DRV_CC_FLAGS := -include
$(BASE_OSINC)/linux/autoconf.h to
my
davinci_mvlpro4.0.mk file to try and get CONFIG_MODVERSION
the same for
the
driver and the kernel.
What can I do to get this error resolved?
Secondly:
When I try to run the demo program encodedecode I get:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/opt/dvevm# ./encodedecode
Encodedecode demo started.
TraceUtil Error: Failed to open codec engine encodedecode
I was able to get all of this working when on DVEVM 1.00. Is this
problem
caused by DSPLINK not being correct or is there another
reason why this
error happens?
