Re: #dbi IRC channel
-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE- Hash: RIPEMD160 Which is great but I was talking about DBI/DBD development not problems with DBDs. Apologies for the tone of my previous email, I misunderstood things and replied to hastily. As penance, I'll check out the #dbi channel on irc.perl.org and stay awhile. :) - -- Greg Sabino Mullane g...@turnstep.com End Point Corporation http://www.endpoint.com/ PGP Key: 0x14964AC8 201004161004 http://biglumber.com/x/web?pk=2529DF6AB8F79407E94445B4BC9B906714964AC8 -BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE- iEYEAREDAAYFAkvIbn8ACgkQvJuQZxSWSsht9wCbBC9R6YDagQKJkbDzaS+CagZV 5pIAoNMSXAhS6vj3BjN8jUT1YNe6DpE3 =0m3q -END PGP SIGNATURE-
Re: #dbi IRC channel
-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE- Hash: RIPEMD160 I know that not everyone is in to IRC and I for one have only flirted with it over the years but for the last 6 months or so I've frequented the #dbi channel and there are a number of knowledgeable and helpful people on it but there is a low representation from DBD authors/maintainers. You failed to mention what IRC server? I'm presuming /not/ freenode, but if ain't freenode, it's unlikely you'll get a lot of people, DBD authors or otherwise. I also think DBI is a bit of a specialized topic, but the only alternative is #perl, which is way too busy. Of course, people also get DBI/DBD help on the friendly database channels such as #mysql and #postgresql. - -- Greg Sabino Mullane g...@turnstep.com End Point Corporation http://www.endpoint.com/ PGP Key: 0x14964AC8 201004131638 http://biglumber.com/x/web?pk=2529DF6AB8F79407E94445B4BC9B906714964AC8 -BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE- iEYEAREDAAYFAkvE1uQACgkQvJuQZxSWSsg8pwCeMvOx7cPdM6HY6+nmc5HRotP+ h7EAn3lzatJayUZ3CYCsIvhdlE3mE+PP =MmjI -END PGP SIGNATURE-
Re: #dbi IRC channel
I know that not everyone is in to IRC and I for one have only flirted with it over the years but for the last 6 months or so I've frequented the #dbi channel and there are a number of knowledgeable and helpful people on it but there is a low representation from DBD authors/maintainers. Martin meant irc.perl.org (magnet), where Perl and Perl module developers talk. It's more a developer chat - not a user help chat (even if there are many questions discussed which are related to 'ho do I do ...'). /Jens
