Bug#497007: apt: useless Vcs-Bzr header
Package: apt Severity: minor Hello, I have seen that when trying to debcheckout apt the command fails and I can't access the apt repo. I have also checked other repos hosted on bzr.d.o and I have seen some of them are gone, but I am not sure if this is an alioth setup bug, a bzr bug or simply a coincidence. Ways to reproduce: cd /tmp debcheckout apt vorlon told me that this is a bug in the bzr client in testing/unstable; I fail to see how would someone running the future stable get the source package or any bzr repo touched by the new client unless they get the experimental bzr package. Bug#497011: /sbin/ip: abbreviation of network-prefix is no longer possible with ip route
Package: iproute Version: 20080725-2 Severity: normal File: /sbin/ip Since I upgraded iproute today from 20080417-1 it seems to be no longer possible to do a abbreviation of the network-prefix when handling it with ip route. Now ip route rejects this with: Error: an inet prefix is expected rather than 10/8. Only ip route add 10.0.0.0/8 via some-gateway works for now. Package: wnpp Severity: normal I am looking for someone to adopt this package. The software seems unmaintained upstream but it is on SourceForge, so anyone could take it over (e.g. to add support for Ada 2005). The workload for Debian maintenance is extremely low and the packaging very straightforward; the only thing to pay attention to is asis which adabrowse depends on. Basically, a new upload of adabrowse is required every time the soname of libasis.so changes; this normally happens once for each Debian stable release. If you would like to help maintain asis too, you are most welcome. The Debian packaging scripts are on a public monotone server; you can use it at your option, or tailor the scripts into your VCS of choice: http://www.ada-france.org/article131.html http://www.ada-france.org:8081/branch/changes/org.debian.adabrowse -- Ludovic Brenta. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. So please move atlantikdesigner to kdegames or just remove it from the kdeaddons package. atlantikdesigner is provided by upstream in this way, so this is not going to change in the Debian side. This means having to re-pack 2 tarballs as they come from upstream, so no. Companies having a kde installation can select from kdeaddons those packages thay are interested in and skip atlantikdesigner. FYI, there is not longer either kdeaddons or atlantik in kde4, so this bug is doomed to be closed whtn kde4 enters in unstable. Bug#496915: [base-files] Modifications related to GSoC project PamNssInstaller
reassign 496915 libc6 thanks The submitter suggests adding a perl script called update-nsswitch to base-files, but I consider that to be a bad idea, as base-files is not supposed to contain any binaries. The file nsswitch.conf is really a configuration file for libc6, so I reassign this bug to libc6. Maybe nsswitch.conf should be in libc6 as well, but for now I don't mind if it's still part of base-files. Thanks. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#496924: pam modifcations related to the GSoC project PamNssInstaller
tags 496924 wontfix thanks On Thu, Aug 28, 2008 at 07:18:43PM +0200, Juan Luis Belmonte wrote: As part of the GSoC project PamNssInstaller (http://wiki.debian.org/SummerOfCode2008/PamNssDebianInstaller). [libpam-runtime] - update-pam tool added, tool to manage pam.d/ files - added lines in debian/rules and debian/libpam-runtime.install for the installation fo the tool [libpam-doc] -update-pam manpage -added lines in doc/man/Makefile.in for the manpage installation Unfortunately, as we discussed by IRC/mail, this tool does not sufficiently cover the relevant use cases for me to be willing to accept this patch. - The syntax requires one to specify the ordering of modules when invoking the tool, which means that the caller has to a) know what other modules are enabled, and b) know where the requested module should be ordered with respect to each. This is too low-level, and not scalable. - The tool has to be invoked separately for each of auth, account, password, and session, implying that these are always separable. They are not; there are cases where adding a module to, e.g., account but not auth will result in a broken stack, which means that adding configs of the various types needs to be treated as atomic from the point of view of the caller. - There is insufficient information stored by this tool to support idempotent operation (e.g., removing a line a second time due to maintainer script failure after the line has already been removed), or to recognize that an admin has made local changes overriding the tool and that these should not be overwritten without first asking the admin for consent. - There is no interface for interacting with the user, to allow the user to select which installed modules should be enabled. - The tool permits editing of other config files under /etc/pam.d/, besides /etc/pam.d/common-*. These files are conffiles belonging to the individual services, not to PAM; and editing them in this manner is a violation of two policy requirements. It's most regrettable that your GSoC mentor didn't talk to me before you began coding, because this issue is one that I've been working on intermittently since last November, and actively since June. I would have been happy to provide you with guidance so that you were working towards an acceptable design. Since this wasn't done, I have myself been working in the meantime on implementing the required tool, which is now in beta testing in Ubuntu, and available as a bzr branch at nosmart+http://bzr.debian.org/pkg-pam/debian/features/config-framework/. I plan to upload this tool to Debian as soon as lenny is released, at which point I will close this bug. There are other minor issues that I see with the patch that could be easily overcome, if not for the design flaws. Here's a list of some of these, in the hopes that you find this feedback useful: - Your patch installs this tool in /sbin. Since this is not needed for system recovery, it does not belong in /sbin; it's an administration tool, and should be shipped in /usr/sbin. - use File::Basename qw(basename); use File::Temp qw(tempfile); These modules are included in the 'perl-modules' package, not in perl-base; using them would require a dependency on perl-modules, which is ill-advised because libpam-runtime is part of the Essential closure (login Pre-Depends: libpam-runtime), and perl-modules is explicitly not. - The manpage handling is done as a patch to upstream build rules. Since I don't think this tool would ever be submitted to Linux-PAM upstream (it encodes logic specific to decisions taken by the Debian PAM packages), this doesn't seem appropriate. - [\s\t]+ This is bad regex style; \s means any whitespace character, which implies \t :) - The indentation of the script is very inconsistent, which makes it difficult to follow. You might want to use something like perltidy on your scripts, so that blocks are indented consistently as this improves legibility and maintainability. Bug#362954: xscreensaver don't unlock the screen (pam_unix2 authentication failure)
If you are using PAM, then it should not be necessary for xscreensaver to be setuid. Bug#496343: freeze exception request: rus-ispell and ispell-et
On Sun, Aug 24, 2008 at 9:16 PM, Luk Claes [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Martin-Éric Racine wrote: Greetings, A user reported a small packaging mistake that somewhat hampers utilization of two of my dictionary packages: ispell-et rus-ispell The mistake is that Hash-Name should use the syntax 2-letter language code or 2-letter language_2-LETTER COUNTY, instead of the language's name in plain English. The diff would be really small and it would restore expected behavior for calling a language-specific dictionary using aspell's command -l option. I am thus inquiring whether a freeze could be granted for Lenny to include the above fix for both packages. Yes, that would be fine. Contact us again once it's uploaded. Uploaded. I noticed a similar breakage and other discrepancies in the ispell files, which I also fixed. -- Martin-Éric Racine http://q-funk.iki.fi

Bug#492993: (no subject)
| This is a proposed rewrite for the docs contained in the Axes Properties | manual page. | | 1) all of the properties should be included in the index. Which index? It doesn't seem appropriate to add them to any of the existing indices (concepts, variables, functions, operators). Maybe variables? It seems strange to me to create a new index for graphics properties alone since they are already presented in itemized lists in the manual. What does an index entry add? It seems natural to me that properties are part of an index. When I am not sure if something exists in the current version of Octave, I look for it in the index with the i command of Info, and if I cannot find it I assume it does not exist. Or else, as in this case, I search in the whole manual and, after finding it, I send a bug report :) Probably there should be one more index for properties. (Not necessarily graphics ones, maybe other properties exist?) -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Bug#302578: dict-jargon: FTBFS: Error on w3m and lynx calls
Hi, * Apparently xmlto calls w3m or lynx to convert html to text, but I can't find the call. (I don't know why neither one is a Build-Depend.) If w3m is installed, it is called, but creates an error. Since I can't locate the error, I have listed w3m as Build-Conflicts-Indep. The cause of the problem is described below. 1. According to jargsrc-4.4.4/Makefile, jargon.txt: jargon-web.xml $(XSLFILES) xmlto -p -width=79 -m jargon-text.xsl txt jargon-web.xml xmlto is called with -p width=79. 2. xmlto then pass option -width=79 to /usr/share/xmlto/format/docbook/txt 3. /usr/share/xmlto/format/docbook/txt, then pass the option -width=79 to w3m like this, /usr/bin/w3m -T text/html -dump -width=79 /tmp/xmlto.NGhmUC/jargon-web.proc 4. Since w3m not recognize the option -width=nn, then it return error. == More == According to /usr/share/xmlto/format/docbook/txt, it contains the following code, if [ -x /usr/bin/w3m ] then CONVERT=/usr/bin/w3m ARGS=-T text/html -dump elif [ -x /usr/bin/lynx ] then CONVERT=/usr/bin/lynx ARGS=-force_html -dump -nolist -width=72 elif [ -x /usr/bin/links ] then CONVERT=/usr/bin/links ARGS=-dump else echo 2 No way to convert HTML to text found. exit 1 fi 1. I have just tried to resolve this problem by editing jargsrc-4.4.4/Makefile like this, WIDTH_ARGS=$(shell \ if [ -x /usr/bin/w3m ]; \ then \ echo '-cols 79'; \ elif [ -x /usr/bin/lynx ]; \ then \ echo '-width=79'; \ elif [ -x /usr/bin/links ]; \ then \ echo '-width 79'; \ fi \ ) jargon.txt: jargon-web.xml $(XSLFILES) xmlto -p $(WIDTH_ARGS) -m jargon-text.xsl txt jargon-web.xml 2. After apply this solution, the w3m error is resolved. 3. However, it create another error when applying the patch, patch debian/jargon-patch, since the patch is used to apply to the output generated by lynx only, not w3m. 4. I'll try to resolved this new issue. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Bug#495717: Slapd no creating socket in the right place
Sorry for not providing more info here; I sent this info to Brian May instead of the bug tracking mail. Here's the info i sent to Brian: I am using the version currently in lenny: # dpkg -l | grep -e libldap -e slapd ii libldap-2.4-2 2.4.10-3 OpenLDAP libraries ii libldap2-dev 2.4.10-3 OpenLDAP development libraries ii slapd 2.4.10-3 OpenLDAP server (slapd) BTW, I have a similar config working OK on an etch server (actually, the lenny box is just a test machine). As you say, there was no need to make any symlink in etch, it worked out-of-the-box. Looking inside /etc/init.d/slapd on the lenny box, I see the following lines: # Backward compatibility with OpenLDAP 2.1 client libraries. if [ ! -h /var/run/ldapi ] [ ! -e /var/run/ldapi ] ; then ln -s slapd/ldapi /var/run/ldapi fi But it looks like the opposite to the fix that needs to be done (/var/run/ldapi is the real socket, and var/run/slapd/ldapi is the symlink that needs to be created). __ Correo Yahoo! Package: torrus-common Version: 1.0.6-2 Hello, I noticed that /var/log/torrus/dbenv_errlog_* pile up. Normally they are empty, but nevertheless take up inodes. For the principle of avoiding unlimited automatic filling of filesystems, a matching statement in /etc/logrotate.d/torrus-common like below would help. Bug#494036: hwclock freezes Thinkpad T60 too
Package: linux-image-2.6.26-1-686 Version: 2.6.26-3 Followup-For: Bug #494036 Since kernel 2.6.25 I've got several kernel freezes without any reason or log entry. It seems to be related to some BIOS/rtc/HPET issue. With any kernel 2.6.24 everything was fine. Because there is nothing in the logs in time of freeze it is hard to give more information. After I use the Ingo Molnar's netconsole I got on a other computer the log message rtc: lost 787 interrupts before freezing. The workaround hpet=disable works mostly. In the ChangeLog-2.6.27-rc5 is a possible fix: commit 38c052f8cff1bd323ccfa968136a9556652ee420 Author: Ingo Molnar [EMAIL PROTECTED] Date: Sat Aug 23 17:59:07 2008 +0200 rtc: fix deadlock if get_rtc_time() is _ever_ called with IRQs off, we deadlock badly in it, waiting for jiffies to increment. So make the code more robust by doing an explicit mdelay(20). This solves a very hard to reproduce/debug hard lockup reported by Mikael Pettersson. Reported-by: Mikael Pettersson [EMAIL PROTECTED] Signed-off-by: Ingo Molnar [EMAIL PROTECTED] So I'll try kernel 2.6.27 next time. Bug#496986: zip: upstream version 3.00 now available
On Thu, 28 Aug 2008, Michael Gilbert wrote: Package: zip Version: 2.32-1 Severity: wishlist fyi, as of 7 july 2008, zip version 3.00 is now available from the upstream site (http://www.info-zip.org/Zip.html). the big changes in this version are zip64 and large file support. this is a request for the new version to be packaged for debian (preferably in experimental and/or backports since testing is in a freeze). I don't think an upload for unstable is incompatible with the freeze, but it would be a bad idea to upload zip and not unzip, as the new zip might create files which only the new unzip is able to unzip, so I wish they release unzip soon... Anyway, I'll start to work on it. Thanks a lot for the report. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Bug#497032: asterisk: incorrect cancel of colour code on console
Package: asterisk Version: 1:1.4.21.2~dfsg-1-pmr-2 Severity: normal I normally run asterisk in verbose 3 mode and monitor the console. I have noticed that one of the cancel colour codes is incorrectly formed, leading to bright magenta being used where it should be plain white. This occurs when this line is executed in my extensions.conf: exten = s,n+1(withclid),Set(DB(lastcall/${CHAN})=${CALLERID(num)}) The magenta colour used for the output is not cancelled, the code showing (greater-or-equal-sign)[0;37;40 m, not cancelling the colour and causing all further output to be the same colour until an explicit colour change. It looks like the code is missing a control character. Bug#497033: gnu-smalltalk: FTBFS on GNU/kFreeBSD
Package: gnu-smalltalk Version: 3.0.3-2 User: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Usertags: kfreebsd Hi, the current version fails to build on GNU/kFreeBSD due to failures in testsuite. On kfreebsd-amd64 all ANSI compliancy and 117: Sport tests fails. With ./configure --disable-generational-gc only 117: Sport test fails. IMHO, failure in 117 is due to different struct sockaddr_in between linux and BSDs. The linux starts with short sin_family, while BSDs starts with char sin_len char sin_family The rest is same on both of them. In packages/tcp/IPSocketImpl.st, there is Eval [ CStruct newStruct: #CSockAddrStruct declaration: #(#(#sinFamily #short) #(#sinPort #(#array #byte 2)) #(#sinAddr #(#array #byte 4)) #(#sinZero #(#array #byte 8))) ] This structure have to be different on BSDs. I am unable to fix it my self. It would also be nice if you can inform upstream about this problem. Thanks in advance Petr -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#495144: backtrace
Using unstable and following the same method, one more item for consideration. The default project enables the terminal plugin and anjuta-launcher appears to want to use this terminal. Killing anjuta-launcher allows anjuta to continue as normal. Bug#497033: gnu-smalltalk: FTBFS on GNU/kFreeBSD
With ./configure --disable-generational-gc only 117: Sport test fails. Thanks. Can you remind me of what is the host triplet for GNU/kFreeBSD? IMHO, failure in 117 is due to different struct sockaddr_in between linux and BSDs. In packages/tcp/IPSocketImpl.st, there is Eval [ CStruct newStruct: #CSockAddrStruct declaration: #(#(#sinFamily #short) #(#sinPort #(#array #byte 2)) #(#sinAddr #(#array #byte 4)) #(#sinZero #(#array #byte 8))) ] I think this is fixed in experimental. Bug#496820: grub-pc in current installer snapshot fails with separate boot partition
Am Mittwoch, den 27.08.2008, 11:45 -0700 schrieb Eric Anderson: Hello, grub-pc fails to install as it is unable to read the file /boot/grub/core.img when used with a separate /boot partition a machine with a 2TB disk. The problem appears to be that grub-setup is looking for the file /boot/grub/core.img, but since the filesystem is already /boot, it is unable to find it. A workaround is to run ln -s . /target/boot/boot after the installer fails, or ln -s . /boot/boot in the chroot environment the grub-install script runs in, but this is almost assuredly the wrong solution so I'm not making a patch to do this. I just tried it out now myself in VMware with a default disk size of 8 GiB. This seems to be related or maybe it is even the same as 489287 I have used the current daily debian-testing-amd64-businesscard.iso from 29-Aug-2008 00:04 and installed `testing' with a seperate /boot partition at the end of the disk. A `msdos' partition table is no problem at all with a seperate /boot. But `gpt', which has to be used for 2 TB, is the problem. -- Felix Zielcke -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Bug#497035: Unable to purge phpbb3
Package: phpbb3 Version: 3.0.2-1 Severity: normal I marked phpbb3 for purge (key _) in aptitude in order to uninstall phpbb3 and destroy its databases. Dbconfig-common which was auto-installed together with phpbb3 I also marked for purging. I answered Yes to the Deconfigure with dbconfig-common question, and Yes to Purge phpbb3 DB. I was then asked a strange question: -|Configuring phpbb3|- What is the password for the administrative account with which this package should create its MySQL database and user? Thinking the maintainer probably meant drop instead of create, I provided the phpbb3 database password, leading to an error message (Access denied for [EMAIL PROTECTED]). OK, so I should have given MySQL password for root. I then selected retry and the same error message occurred again. Among the choices now were retry and retry (skip questions), both with the same result: the same error message, and no questions asked, i.e. no chance of supplying the correct password. So I chose abort and tried again: no avail. I then reinstalled phpbb3 (and thus dbconfig-common) and tried the whole process again, this time using the correct password. I then got lots of table already exists error messages. Finally, reinstalling phpbb3 again, and purging phpbb3 without purging dbconfig-common successfully rid my system of phpbb3. When I tried to reproduce this bug, I could successfully generate the wrong password behaviour described above, but not the table already exists behaviour. Bug#497037: flightgear: unclear where to put airport data files
Package: flightgear Version: 1.0.0-3+b1 Severity: normal The file /usr/share/doc/flightgear/README.Debian says: Additional scenery is available at http://www.flightgear.org/. They should be unpacked into /usr/share/games/FlightGear/Scenery. This works fine for the regular scenery files. However, the FTP servers offer a directory called AirportsOverlay/, which seems to contain additional airport data; as is, there seems to be a hole in the scenery around the airports, except for the runways. It appears that this directory, and the data files therein, are nowhere mentioned in either the Debian package documentation, or that on the project website. Could the README file above be updated, to explain where the airport files should be unpacked, or how they should be made available to the program? I am aware of the file /usr/share/games/FlightGear/Docs/README.scenery, from the fgfs-base package. Experimentation with the FG_SCENERY environment variable does not seem to solve the problem. -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (990, 'testing'), (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.26-1-amd64 Locale: LANG=en_CA.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_CA.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Versions of packages flightgear depends on: ii fgfs-base 1.0.0-2 Flight Gear Flight Simulator -- ba ii freeglut3 2.4.0-6.1 OpenGL Utility Toolkit ii libalut0 1.1.0-2 OpenAL Utility Toolkit ii libc6 2.7-13GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libgcc11:4.3.1-2 GCC support library ii libgl1-mesa-glx [libgl 7.0.3-5 A free implementation of the OpenG ii libglu1-mesa [libglu1] 7.0.3-5 The OpenGL utility library (GLU) ii libice61:1.0.1-2 X11 Inter-Client Exchange library ii libjpeg62 6b-13 The Independent JPEG Group's JPEG ii libopenal1 1:1.4.272-1 Software implementation of the Ope ii libsm6 1:1.0.1-3 X11 Session Management library ii libstdc++6 4.3.1-2 The GNU Standard C++ Library v3 ii libx11-6 2:1.0.3-7 X11 client-side library ii libxext6 1:1.0.1-2 X11 miscellaneous extension librar ii libxi6 1:1.0.1-4 X11 Input extension library ii libxmu61:1.0.2-2 X11 miscellaneous utility library ii libxt6 1:1.0.2-2 X11 toolkit intrinsics library ii plib1.8.4c21.8.4-10 Portability Libraries: Run-time pa ii simgear1.0.0 1.0.0-4+b1Simulator Construction Gear -- sha ii zlib1g 1:1.2.3.3.dfsg-12 compression library - runtime flightgear recommends no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#496274: procps: (Hurd) Fixes PATH_MAX problem, builds and most of the tools work
Hi, On Fri, Aug 29, 2008 at 06:51:55PM +1000, Craig Small wrote: On Sun, Aug 24, 2008 at 09:37:49AM +0530, Madhusudan.C.S wrote: Fixes the PATH_MAX problems in proc/readproc.c file and pwdx.c file. This patch builds procps on Hurd. And the tools pgrep, pkill, kill, top, watch, tload also work. This bug report does not explain anything, specifically: * What IS the PATH_MAX problem? * Why isn't PATH_MAX defined, its mentioned in the man pages? I agree that this information (and a quote of the actual build failure) was missing from the initial bug report, so here goes: The GNU system has no path name limit, hence PATH_MAX is not defined. POSIX merely says that PATH_MAX should be defined to the system limit if such a limit exists, which is not the case here. As a result, procps FTBFS on hurd-i386, see http://buildd.debian-ports.org/fetch.php?pkg=procpsver=1%3A3.2.7-8arch=hurd-i386stamp=1216635885file=logas=raw |cc -c -D_GNU_SOURCE -I proc -I/usr/include/ncurses -fno-common -ffast-math -W | -Wall -Wshadow -Wcast-align -Wredundant-decls -Wbad-function-cast | -Wcast-qual -Wwrite-strings -Waggregate-return -Wstrict-prototypes | -Wmissing-prototypes -g -Wdeclaration-after-statement -Wpadded | -Wstrict-aliasing -fno-inline-functions | -DSHARED=0 proc/readproc.c -o proc/readproc.o In file included from |proc/readproc.c:13: |proc/readproc.h:76: warning: padding struct to align 'start_code' |proc/readproc.c: In function 'stat2proc': |proc/readproc.c:391: warning: use of assignment suppression and length modifier | together in scanf format |proc/readproc.c:391: warning: use of assignment suppression and length modifier | together in scanf format |proc/readproc.c: In function 'get_proc_stats': |proc/readproc.c:1039: error: 'PATH_MAX' undeclared (first use in this function) |proc/readproc.c:1039: error: (Each undeclared identifier is reported only once |proc/readproc.c:1039: error: for each function it appears in.) |proc/readproc.c:1039: warning: unused variable 'path' |make[1]: *** [proc/readproc.o] Error 1 |make[1]: Leaving directory `/build/buildd/procps-3.2.7' The reason Madhusudan filed the patch now is that he implemented a procfs translator for the Hurd for Google Summer of Code, so procps actually works fine now on the Hurd; just fixing the FTBFS bug would have been pointless before because there was no /proc in the first place. * Where is the other source of these programs that now need alternatives? They are in the `hurd' package (only on hurd-i386, of course). I'm not shifting essential stuff that procps has around with an alternatives system until I understand why it needs to happen. At the very least I'll be checking to see if the alternative files exist (eg w.procps) before I run update-alternatives As I understand it, Madhusudan just followed the already existing example of w for the other utilities (kill, ps, uptime, vmstat). In any case, this is post-lenny, of course. We'd just be interested in discussing whether you consider the patch OK to apply after the lenny release, so we can make a modified package available to our users. The patch had been reviewed by the Debian GNU/Hurd porters before submission. thanks, Michael -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? Bug#473350: permissions problem
This appears to be a permissions problem - ggzd needs /var/lib/ggzd/ and any files within it to be chmod games.games It's hard to tell due to the problems with #473350 but once #473350 is fixed (with an m4 patch from upstream), a simple preinst allows ggzd to start normally whether or not /var/lib/ggzd exists or contains files. $ cat debian/ggzd.preinst #!/bin/sh set -e if [ -d /var/lib/ggzd ]; then chown games.games -R /var/lib/ggzd/ fi #DEBHELPER# I propose to upload a fixed package that also implements the fix for #490420. -- Neil Williams = http://www.data-freedom.org/ http://www.nosoftwarepatents.com/ http://www.linux.codehelp.co.uk/ signature.asc Description: This is a digitally signed message part
