Bug#971584: libsane1: Scanner no more identified after upgrade to 1.0.31 version
Hello World, I've had the same problem with my Canon CanoScan N650U. These are the following steps that I had to do to make it work again. * In the driver configuration (plustek.conf in my case): instead of just [usb] I had to change this section name to [usb] 0x04A9 0x2209 I'm not sure about the exact numbers; these are the USB idVendor and idProduct attributes Without these numbers the "device auto" directive did not work. * I had to create the /var/lock/sane directory with correct permissions; it is missing and without it, the driver says something about "error -11, lock failed" HTH Andreas -- ("`-''-/").___..--''"`-._ `o_ o ) `-. Bug#632875: Bug#583734: Use forked git repository for wmaker source
On 30.08.2011 15:21, Axel Beckert wrote: Hi together, [snip] Gennady Kupava wrote on Mon, 11 Jul 2011 22:53:21 +0400: Guys, any news on this? Yes, the maintainer is MIA, the package has been orphaned on 6th of July 2011. See http://bugs.debian.org/632875 for the details. The last two uploads (2010-Apr-09, 2009-Jul-03) were non-maintainer uploads, anyway. See http://packages.qa.debian.org/w/wmaker.html for details. So we can and should ignore John's comment about working on packaging the -crm branch... Nobody currently really cares about Windowmaker in Debian. That's not quite true. The mentioned git repository was updated and commit b949a1c4647130202a7b9ff9c50cf1e30fbe454d had a lot of Debian updates from Rodolfo García Peñas (kix). Unfortunately kix has no time to be the official maintainer for the wmaker package in Debian as he has a lot of other packages. So If you _do_ care about Windowmaker in Debian, you should change that by stepping up and help getting the package back in shape, probably by switching to the -crm branch as upstream project. (For those who are reading the Cc of this mail to the orphaning bug report, see http://bugs.debian.org/583734 for details.) If there is someone willing to maintain this package, the -crm branch is IMHO the best starting point... Best regards Andreas -- (`-''-/).___..--''`-._ `o_ o ) `-. Bug#597869: RM: cvsnt -- ROM; No longer interested
Package: ftp.debian.org Severity: normal There are two reasons for me: 1) I am no longer interested in CVSNT, I switched to a DVCS 2) The availability of the package is no longer granted. There is an anonynous CVS access to the source for maintainers like me, but it's not sure how long this will last (in the fine print was stated that it could be withdrawn without prior notice) Other than that, there is a RC bug (security related) in unstable (it has been fixed in testing/stable by the security team) -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#563530: cvsnt: superfluous information in package description
Ansgar Burchardt wrote: Package: cvsnt Version: 2.5.04.3236-1 Severity: minor Tags: patch Hi, Thank you for your patch... there is some superfluous information in the package description. As all software included in Debian is DFSG-free there is no need to state that cvsnt is Open Source software. Sure. I just took this sentence from the former homepage of cvsnt Also the Homepage field should direct users to a more informative page instead of the download page. I would like to if there were any. The problem is that March Hare, the company that supports cvsnt is (of course) more interested to sell cvsnt instead of having people just downloading it. The pattached patch replaces the Homepage field with the URL from the package description and removes the superfluous information. Please consider applying it to the next release. Thank you. Bug#466408: Failure of Drop-In Compatibility with Old Repository

I upgraded a client from cvs (1:1.12.13-8) to cvsnt (2.5.03.2382-3), and everything worked fine: cd sandbox; cvs update; no problem. Then I upgraded the server, and did a cvs update on the client, and got this. $ cat CVS/Root :ext:MY_CVS_SERVER_HOST:/home/cvs $ cvs update cvs [server aborted]: /home/cvs: no such repository Thank you for sending this bug. When I regressed ther server back from cvsnt to GNU cvs, everything worked fine once again. This problem isn't discussed in /usr/share/doc/cvsnt/, nor could I find it in the cvsnt wiki. The closest thing I saw was http://www.cvsnt.org/wiki/MoveFromLinux which discusses moving a repository from GNU CVS on GNU/Linux to CVSNT on MS Windows. But I'm not switching OSes here. The page http://www.cvsnt.org/wiki/InstallationLinux also does not seem to have anything relevant. I suspect that I am not unique in this situation, so it would be nice if the documentation would explain the right way to do this migration. In fact, there is not much documentation about this. The problem is, that you have to define your repository configuration in the file /etc/cvsnt/PServer Despite of the name (PServer), the configuration is valid for all protocols. You could copy the file PServer.example that should already be in this directory and edit it that it fits your needs/situation (the file itself is fairly good documented). If you need help about this, don't hesitate to mail again. I am going to document that better in the next version of cvsnt Best regards Andreas -- (`-''-/).___..--''`-._ `o_ o ) `-.
