Bug#1019051: ffmpeg: Repackaging with pipewire: dpkg-shlibdeps: error: no dependency information found for libjack.so.0 used by libavdevice.so.59.7.100

2022-09-03 Thread Braiam Peguero
Package: ffmpeg
Version: 7:5.1-3
Severity: serious
Tags: ftbfs
Justification: fails to build from source (but built successfully in the past)

Dear Maintainer,

Repackaging FFMPEG on a Pipewire enabled host, while fulfilling
all dependencies fails on the shlibdeps step with the following message:

set -e && for pkg in libavcodec-extra59 libavfilter-extra8 libavformat-extra59;
do \
mainpkg=`echo $pkg | sed 's/-extra//'`; \
cp -f debian/$mainpkg.symbols debian/$pkg.symbols; \

debian/libavdevice59/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libavdevice.so.59.7.100)
Hint: check if the library actually comes from a package.

I'm unsure if ffmpeg dependencies needs to be more tighter wtr jack
or if a change should be done to pipewire so that it correctly
declares the shared library.

Bug#1013248: libseat-dev: Missing libseat-dev dependency on libsystemd-dev via pkg-config

2022-06-19 Thread Braiam Peguero
Package: libseat-dev
Version: 0.7.0-4
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

Dear Maintainer,

Using pkg-config to find headers fails for libseat-dev with
the following output:

$ /usr/bin/pkg-config --cflags libseat
Package libsystemd was not found in the pkg-config search path.
Perhaps you should add the directory containing `libsystemd.pc'
to the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable
Package 'libsystemd', required by 'libseat', not found

pkgconfig/libseat.pc includes dependency on libsystemd:

$ cat /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/pkgconfig/libseat.pc
prefix=/usr
includedir=${prefix}/include
libdir=${prefix}/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu

Name: libseat
Description: Seat management library
Version: 0.7.0
Requires.private: libsystemd
Libs: -L${libdir} -lseat
Libs.private: -lrt
Cflags: -I${includedir}

Please include libsystemd-dev as a dependency of libseat-dev.

Also, if I'm not mistaken, seatd is trying not to have hard
dependencies on systemd, but couldn't find from where
the .pc file is generated.

Bug#999669: heimdal: drop patch 0016 that adds base64 back

Dear Maintainer,

Commit 6ef46655 added the patch "Add back in base64_encode and base64_decode",
that patch can be dropped since upstream bumped SONAME [1].

I'm unsure if a revert or a patch removing it is appropiated.

Bug#914602: Blueman python version constrains prevents other packages from upgrading without clear reason

package: blueman

According to bug #804075, blueman was switched from python2 to 3 but for some

blueman depends on <3.7 if upstream supports it. Triggering a rebuild

2018-09-08 Thread Braiam Peguero
Package: lightdm
Version: 1.26.0-2
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

When the greeter screen turn off, no amount of key-bashing
or mouse fiddling would turn it off. It only seems to happen
when locking the screen. VT switching allow the monitor to
turn on. I would expect lightdm to turn on the screen when
I start typing or moving the mouse as the system should show
responsiveness.

Bug#851966: Change file specify such breaking

2017-01-20 Thread Braiam Peguero
According to [1], this is an expected change. Ideally, biber and
texlive-bibtex-extra (biblatex) should have versioned dependencies,
since as the Biber manual[2] put it:

> Biber versions are closely coupled with Biblatex versions.
> You need to have the right combination of the two.

Bug#845995: firefox: Debug symbols missing on firefox 50 for crash reporter

2016-11-27 Thread Braiam Peguero
Package: firefox
Version: 50.0-3
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

In 49, firefox crash reporter was able to get libxul symbols as
seen [1][2], in 50 such symbols went missing [3][4]. I remember
some mail saying that debug symbols were manually uploaded but
I'm unable to find it. gdb seems to be able to find the symbols
just fine, but since cr catch exceptions faster it doesn't seems
to be able to get useful bt.

2015-06-16 Thread Braiam Peguero
From version 2.30 onwards, keepass would disable those
options while running on mono [1]. We could fix this asap if
someone could figure out how to make a diff of the snapshot.

Bug#773121: iceweasel: H.264 playback broken again in Jessie?

2014-12-14 Thread Braiam Peguero
 My understanding is that gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg has been replaced by
 gstreamer1.0-libav in Jessie, so I've installed that instead.
 about:config shows that media.gstreamer.enabled is set to true.
 Unfortunately, https://www.youtube.com/html5 still insists that H.264 is
 not supported by my browser (both in a regular and in a -safe-mode
instance).

If I'm not mistaken, the one you need is actually gstreamer1.0-plugins-bad
which includes in the Gstreamer-Decoders section the video/x-h264
mime.

Bug#768512: base-files: Why is postinst script trying to remove /mnt?

2014-11-07 Thread Braiam Peguero
Package: base-files
Version: 7.10
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

While upgrading from 7.6 to 7.10, dpkg informs me
that it tries to remove /mnt:

Unpacking base-files (7.10) over (7.6) ...
dpkg: warning: unable to delete old directory '/mnt': Directory not empty

Why would base-files try to do that? I presume is related
to some changes over the logic which /mnt is (re)created when
installing base-files. I know I won't lose anything of importance
since dpkg refuses to delete the directory, but the warning shouldn't
be triggered.

Cheers,

Braiam

Bug#757814: chromium: Javascript console doesn't autocomplete on tab press

2014-08-11 Thread Braiam Peguero
Package: chromium
Version: 35.0.1916.153-2
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

In the JS console, Chromium hints you about possible functions
or variable names when you type, the way to select them is pressing
the tabulation key. This worked before in 30, but suddendly stopped
working afterwards.

I'm not sure what causes the issue, the console correctly autocompletes
if it offers multiple options when you click the correct, but if you
press tab, it just reloads the hints.

Bug#752569: gnome-control-center: Bump gsettings-desktop-schemas dependency to = 3.12

2014-06-24 Thread Braiam Peguero
Package: gnome-control-center
Version: 1:3.12.1-3+b1
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

Try to change time/date settings clicking the Date Time
item from the Gnome Control Center using 3.12 or superior version.
It leads to a crash since it can't find the
/share/glib-2.0/schemas/org.gnome.desktop.datetime.gschema.xml
schema file which is included in 3.12 and up.

Bumping the dependencies of the package to = 3.12 to force the
upgrade of the package should be enough.

The exact way to reproduce the error and the output:

That's because Chromium dropped support for NPAPI plugins for all

Dear Maintainer,

As can be seen in this comment[1] on LaunchPad, Dominican Republic use the
am/pm denotation instead of the 24-hours. I've patched this locally several
times, so I think is time for a more definitive fix.

I've reported this upstream[2] along others issues but it takes too much
time to get it fixed. For now, I think this is the most pressing issue.

There's available a patch for Ubuntu[3], but this is essentially the changes:
