Bug#1070057: mutter: Severe keyboard input lag/pauses

2024-04-29 Thread Florian Cramer
Package: mutter
Version: 46.0-1
Severity: important
X-Debbugs-Cc: flrnc...@gmail.com

Dear Maintainer,

In all programs that rely on mutter and/or Gnome/GTK libraries for keyboard
input, I am experiencing severe keyboard input lag/pauses, sometimes for
several seconds. This might be a problem that only occurs in xorg with the
Nvidia driver, and is identical to what has been described here:
https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/mutter/-/issues/3384

   * What led up to the situation?
Update from Gnome/mutter 45 to Gnomemutter 46.

   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
 ineffective)?

The problem occurs in Gnome-Terminal, but also XFCE4-Terminal and LXTerminal.
It can be mitigated by using xterm.

Bug#370559: cupsys-bsd: Print output is shrunk when using lpr print command

2006-06-05 Thread Florian Cramer
Package: cupsys-bsd
Version: 1.2.1-1
Severity: important

After the upgrade to CUPS 1.2.1, any page printed using the lpr
command is shrunk to 92% its original size, with oversize margins. This
behavior does not occur when printing from applications that talk
directly to CUPS, and did not occur with the previous CUPS release in
Debian unstable. It is independent from the printer driver/backend used.
(Next to the custom CUPS/Gutenprint driver for my Kyocera FS-1010, I
also tried HP Laserjet and generic PCL drivers.)

The problem can be easily reproduced by printing a PDF file either from
xpdf (which uses the lpr command) or evince (which talks to CUPS).

Bug#342833: debian-installer: Installation on Firewire hard drives fails on PPC/PowerMac

2005-12-10 Thread Florian Cramer
Package: debian-installer
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

debian-installer offers to install a Debian system on an external
Firewire drive in the partitioning menu. However, installation of yaboot
fails if _any_ system partition is on a Firewire device, even if the
boot partition for yaboot itself was created on the primal IDE device.

In other words, it seems to be impossible to install DebianPPC on
anything but internal (IDE) hard drives.

Bug#310321: tetex-base: Package doesn't install because of ConTeX initialization bug

2005-05-22 Thread Florian Cramer
Package: tetex-base
Version: 2.0.2c-8
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

After upgrading tetex-base to 2.0.2c-8 in a routine distribution upgrade
of the unstable distribution, the following error occured during package
configuration:

Error: `pdfetex -ini -jobname=cont-en -progname=context *cont-en.ini'
failed

This makes the installation of the package fail altogether.
