Bug#612911: linux-image-2.6.32-5-openvz-amd64: Deprecated CIFS module

2011-02-11 Thread Stanislav Klinkov
Package: linux-2.6
Version: 2.6.32-30
Severity: important

The package linux-image-2.6.32-5-openvz-amd64 is shipped with a deprecated
version
of the CIFS module (cifs.ko). So, userspace utilities such as mount.cifs
become incompatible with old version of cifs.ko and refuse to work.

For example, one can mount nothing via CIFS. Rolling back the packages
cifs-utils, samba-common, smbfs', etc down to Lenny or Lenny-backports
bundles resolves the issue as a temporary workaround.
