Bug#405121: installation-report

2006-12-31 Thread Tommi Sakari Uimonen

Package: installation-reports

Boot method: CD
Image version:
http://people.debian.org/~aba/d-i/images/daily/gtk-miniiso/mini.iso
Date: 29.12.2006

Machine: Custom (Asus P5B-VM mobo)
Processor: Intel Core2Duo
Memory: 1GB
Partitions: several (two PATA disks)

Base System Installation Checklist:
[O] = OK, [E] = Error (please elaborate below), [ ] = didn't try it

Initial boot: [O]
Detect network card:[O]
Configure network: [O]
Detect CD: [O]
Load installer modules: [O]
Detect hard drives: [O]
Partition hard drives: [O]
Install base system:[O]
Clock/timezone setup: [O]
User/password setup:[O]
Install tasks: [O]
Install boot loader:[O]
Overall install:[O]

Video modes were horizontally misaligned (about 3 cm shifted to right) on
my setup (Intel 965G graphics card with analog output and Dell 2001FP LCD
panel). I had to manually select 'Auto-adjust' from my monitor and after
that, the picture was centered.

Manual partitioning:
- Pressing [Continue] button selects the currently highlighted item
instead of moving on to the next logic phase like 'Finish partitioning'

(Maybe this is intentional, but I just let you know)

When typing passwords for new user/root, some sort of caps-lock indicator
would be great to warn if caps-lock is on.

Bug#364849: scrollbar problem

2006-04-25 Thread Tommi Sakari Uimonen

Package: gtk2-engines-gtk-qt
Version: 0.60-2.1

When I use KDE theme for my gtk2 apps, the scrollbars work extremely
strange. If I choose the lower radio button where I can select what style
to use (QT, etc.), scrollbars work just fine.

Bug#316925: same bug again

2006-03-07 Thread Tommi Sakari Uimonen

hal 0.5.7-1
dbus 0.61-4
pmount 0.9.9-1

hal does not update the mounted status. I didn't compile from original
sources since I don't know how to compile debian packages from deb-src.
Maybe someone could reproduce this also.

Bug#338577: automatic build for OO clipart gallery

2005-11-14 Thread Tommi Sakari Uimonen

What do you mean exactly? There is already openclipart-openoffice.org,
have you tried it?

My bad, I was still using openoffice.org2 packages. After switching to
openoffice.org galleries were there.

Bug#338577: automatic build for OO clipart gallery

2005-11-11 Thread Tommi Sakari Uimonen

Source: openclipart
Source-Version: 0.18+dfsg-3

Severity: wishlist

It would be great to have the galleries built automatically to openoffice.
Now they must be created manually from openoffice, and it's really slow to
do if you want the categories listed also. Of course it's fast to add just
the root of png/ but then all cliparts are there in one gallery and it's
hard to find what you are looking for.

This could be a separate optional package also, named like
openclipart-oo-gallery or something.

Bug#338321: oversized png images

2005-11-09 Thread Tommi Sakari Uimonen

Package: openclipart-png
Version: 0.18+dfsg-1

Some of the png images are extremely large. To find out the sizes, I used
following:

find /usr/share/openclipart/png /tmp/files
file -f /tmp/files |grep image |awk '{print $5 $6 $7 $1}' |grep -e
^[0-9][0-9][0-9][0-9]

And I get for example following:

10535x16000,./food/meats_and_eggs/egg_mateya_01.png:
10562x16000,./food/meats_and_eggs/salami_mateya_01.png:
10534x16000,./food/dairy/cheese_mateya_01.png:
10524x16000,./food/fruit/apple_mateya_01.png:
10534x16000,./food/vegetables/salad_mateya_01.png:
10535x16000,./food/vegetables/paprika_mateya_01.png:
10527x16000,./food/desserts/cake_mateya_01.png:
10536x16000,./food/breads_and_carbs/pasta_mateya_01.png:

Those are just huge. Firefox crashes when trying to load those, gimp ate
all my memory and swap, until came unresponsive while kswapd was using
most of cpu, kuickshow was able to show them.

Also, when creating the galleries manually in OO, it takes a huge amount
of time when these files are added.

There are few that are 2k x 2k. I think that even 1k x 1k is too much.
If openoffice could handle the svg's natively, there would not be need for
the png's. Some svg2png util can be explicitly used if png's are needed
(eg. Firefox can save svg's as png's) Hopefully that will happen someday.
Abiword understands svg's, though not very fast and very well.
