Could you please provide the information I have asked for on the bug #1041866? - If not, I intend to close the bug in a few weeks, since I cannot reproduce it. Please give information so I can confirm if it is a valid bug or not. best -- Andreas Rönnquist gus...@debian.org

Are you on amd64? The geeqie package should depend on liblua5.3-0 (and according to https://packages.debian.org/sid/geeqie it claims to do just that on all architectures except m68k, sh4 and x32). I just tested on unstable, removed liblua5.1-0 and liblua5.1-0-dev, and started geeqie - which worked just fine, with only Lua 5.3 installed. /Andreas Rönnquist gus...@debian.org
Bug#1041866: Package: geeqie
Package: geeqie geeqie (version 1:2.0.1-8+b2, Trixie package) depends on the package liblua5.1-0 . However, liblua5.1-0 is not included in the dependencies of Trixie's geeqie package and needs to be manually installed. Without an installed liblua5.1-0, geeqie quit upon launch with an error message about liblua5.1.so.0 missing. I am using Debian Trixie with kernel 6.3.0-1-amd64 #1 SMP PREEMPT_DYNAMIC Debian 6.3.7-1 (2023-06-12) x86_64 GNU/Linux.
