I wanted to test running 'Acrobat Reader' on my amd64, so I installed
ia32-libs-gtk ; but it failed, as reported in this long bug
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=406455
Disclaimer: I did not have time to read bug 406455;

/usr/local/Adobe/Acrobat7.0/bin/acroread is a script; and it
messes up with LD paths in many places; e.g. at ~ line 430,
LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$LD_LIBRARY_PATH:/lib:/usr/lib

One peace of usefull information would be where you get your acroread
deb from. The rest is known.
I downloaded the acroread installer from Adobe itself, and installed
it in /usr/local/Adobe/Acrobat7.0 (that is the default it proposes)

The EULA sounds like it was written by a team of lawyers who want to tell
me what I can't do, and the GPL sounds like it was written by a human
being who wants me to know what I can do.
