Locales problems...

2002-11-28 Thread Bruno Diniz de Paula
Hi,

I work with locale en_US and keyboard layour us_intl, and frequently
have to type special characters in portuguese. The problem is that with
both multi-gnome-terminal and gnomeicu I wasn't able to type these
characters. With gnome-terminal it works fine. The version of
multi-gnome-terminal was the unstable one, so I decided to downgrade to
the stable version. Surprisingly, with stable version of
multi-gnome-terminal I could type all of the special characters that
didn't work with unstable version. What is the problem? How can I
display (and type) correctly in both multi-gnome-terminal and gnomeicu,
all of them running on Gnome2?

Another question: is this question proper to this list, or I should have
tried debian-user? Sorry if it is unproper... (in fact, I also sent to
that list)

Thanks in advance,

Bruno.

Galeon crash unexpectedly

2002-11-25 Thread Bruno Diniz de Paula
Hi,

I sent this question both to debian-user and debian-gtk-gnome, but had
no answers. Hopefully you can shed a light on it. I am trying to run galeon
and after several error messages like the one below...

** CRITICAL **: file
/home/erich/debian/galeon/galeon-1.2.6/src/mozilla/mozilla.cpp: line 134
(gboolean mozilla_preference_set(const char *, const char *)): assertion
`new_value != NULL' failed.

... it starts opening the window and aborts with the following message:

** ERROR **: file /home/erich/debian/galeon/galeon-1.2.6/src/main.c:
line 789 (galeon_exit): assertion failed: (g_list_length (all_embeds) ==
0)
aborting...
Aborted

What is the problem? Specs: sid, Galeon 1.2.6-2.

Any idea of the reason for that?
Regards,

Bruno.

Re: GNOME not starting

Hi Thomas,

you could also have refered to snapshot.debian.org and looked for a
snapshot prior to 11/14. It works perfectly...

Bruno.

If you don't have them anymore, you can get them from:
  ftp://ftp.debian.org/debian/pool/main/b/bonobo-activation/

Unfortunately, version 1.0.3-2.2 is disappearing from mirrors,
leaving only 2.1.0-1 and 0.9.6-1. I was lucky to be able to
 get version 1.0.3-2.2 from a slow-to-update mirror.
