Hi,
I invented Macromedia Flash.
I called Macromedia one day and started preaching
the virtues of using vector for sending animation over the web using small
amounts of data. I told them at the time that I fully realized that this was
probably a multi million dollar idea and that I was willing to give them this
"free sample" because it was but a slice of the big picture. However they took
my original concept of an ergonomic art and animation tool and went completely
off into left field with it. I'm 43 years old now and along the way I have given
away ideas by the dozens and literally watched other people make millions off of
making my ideas their own.
I see a number of free projects like this one which
have sprung from the linux kernal and I see a whole new horizon brewing. From
where I'm sitting, it's like a whole palette of all the right ingredients and
all the right talent, and it looks as if it has gotten to the point where we are
no longer following in the footsteps of the computer industry, we are beginning
to embark upon our own path.
We no longer have to copy Windows or Unix or Mac or
anybody else. We can start work on developing the Operating System of the Future
right here, right now. I envision a whole new Graphical User Interface System
which will blow Windoze out of the water and is completely FREE.
I would like to start with the proposed development
of the newDebian Free Game Console.
Basically I want to build something like an XBox.
Only on this one you can also design your own games and share them with your
friends. When you boot the system, it starts in Arcade mode. You can select from
a list of games on your hard drive, play from a disc, or even online. Then you
can hit a key combination and it pops you to the OS and you have a full game
editing package. I have so many original and proprietary ideas ready to pack
into this box that we will blow all the other commercial game consoles right out
of the water!
What do you guys think? What would be the
feasability of making a light OS optimized for playing and creating your own
games?
And this is just the beginning, my
friends.
sincerely,
Dillinger Lee Heermann
