Thanks, I wasn't aware of that.

definitely help speed things up.

Bug#1051763: dpkg: Please backport support for loong64 to oldstable and stable

2023-09-12 Thread John Paul Adrian Glaubitz
Source: dpkg
Version: 1.21.22
Severity: normal
User: debian-de...@lists.debian.org

Hello!

In order to be able to add loong64-specific changes to source packages, the
dpkg version on the
infrastructure servers, in particular DAK, needs to be able to recognize
loong64 in d/control.

Since the servers are running oldstable and stable and loong64 support was only
added to dpkg
1.22.0, I would like to ask for loong64 to be backported to the dpkg version in
oldstable and
stable.

Thanks,
Adrian

Fixing the issue in a similar way as it was fixed on sparc64 [1] is
not possible?

Thanks a lot for the quick fix!

In case you need to test something on sparc64, there is the machine
notker.debian.net [1] that you can use any time.

Thanks,
Adrian

Bug#726520: dpkg-genchanges: error: cannot read files list file: No such file or directory

2014-03-21 Thread John Paul Adrian Glaubitz
dpkg-genchanges gives a rather unhelpful error message if a package is
attempted to be built on a non-supported arch. See what happens when
I want to build zsnes, which is Architecture: any-i386, on amd64:

I second that. Just ran into the exact same situation when trying
to build a i386-only package in my build environment which is set
up as amd64 by default.

Please change the error message to something more meaningful.

Adrian
