Soon to come: review for pam-mysql debconf templates

2012-08-22 Thread Christian PERRIER
The debconf templates for this package recently changed or were added.

As a consequence, the Debian English localization team is proposing a
complete review to the maintainer.

When that review starts, another notice will be sent as a followup to
this mail, announcing the intent of one of the Debian English
localization team members to review the templates.

It is likely that such review will trigger changes to templates.

As a consequence, translation work on this package's templates is
temporarily discouraged. Rushing out to update existing translations
or adding new ones is likely to lead to more confusion than benefit.

Calls for translations will be sent as soon as the review is complete.

Thanks for your cooperation.

I think that most can be considered as l10n to English, so an l10n tag
 makes sense to me.

Being able to have people discuss possible fixes to the english

complete integration with bug tracking for suggested descriptions is
something that's going to happen, but I hope that at least people
being able to add comments to them will help

Announce of an upcoming upload for the efingerd package

2012-08-22 Thread David Prévot
Dear maintainer of efingerd and Debian translators,

Some days ago, I sent a notice to the maintainer of the efingerd Debian
package, mentioning the status of at least one old translation update in
the BTS.

I announced the intent to build and possibly upload a non-maintainer
upload for this package in order to fix this long-time pending
localization bug as well as all other pending translations.

The package maintainer agreed for the NMU or did not respond, so I will
proceed with the NMU.

The full planned schedule is available at the end of this mail.

The package debconf templates are currently completely translated to:
cs da de es fr nl pt_BR pt ru sk sv vi.

On top of these, the following translation is incomplete:

languagetranslated fuzzy untranslated

  lt063

If you did any of the, currently incomplete, translations you will get
*another* mail with the translation to update.

Other translators also have the opportunity to create new translations
for this package. Once completed, please send them as a bug report
against the efingerd package so I can incorporate them in the build.

The deadline for receiving updates and new translations is Monday,
August 27, 2012. If you are not in time you can always send your
translation to the BTS.

The POT file is attached to this mail.

If the maintainer objects to this process I will immediately abort my
NMU and send him/her all updates I receive.

Otherwise the following will happen (or already has):

Sunday, August 19, 2012 : send the first intent to NMU notice to
the package maintainer.
Wednesday, August 22, 2012 : send this notice
Monday, August 27, 2012 : deadline for receiving translation

Tuesday, August 28, 2012 : build the package and upload it to

Bonjour,

debian-i18n is an English-speaking mailing list, meant for
coordination of all Deiban i18n and l10n activities.

You may want to contact the French localization team, using the
debian-l10n-fre...@lists.debian.org mailing list.

There you can observe the work methods we use, participate to
translation reviews, then eventually progressively pick up new
translations to work on. The team uses a quite codified work method,
most work being done in the mailing list (and not in an integrated web
framework such as Launchpad) and it's therefore easy to progressively
understand the team's processes.
