Bug#348141: still happening

2006-05-07 Thread Silvério

Hi Adam,

I would've answered your questions earlier if I have received a
respective notification...

Problems still happening on version 1.9.1.

KMail has been completely purged, but when I reinstalled it the config
was still there. So, to be franc, I doubt all config files where deleted
on the purge activity. For testing could you please point out what
config files to delete?

Using KMail with a different user and starting from no (first use
wizard) configuration did not help.

The server package is a cyrus21-imapd 2.1.18-3.
The folder structure is extensive:
- 21 folder on top level
- 5 of the top level folders containing subfolders and being mail
folders themselves

- 70 subfolders

I am running a Debian Sid installation at a similar update level where
KMail is still working. The difference is that it has not been used that
often compared to the machine where KMail is broken. (And being a
desktop the network is connected via Ethernet 100 MBit/s.)

Thanks and best regards
Silvério

Bug#338756: konqueror: reproducable crash on specific url

  http://www.nitot.com/standards/blog/archives/2003_janvier.php

I can't reproduce that with konqueror from unstable (3.5.2). do you
 still can ?

My (Home) Sid Konqueror works with the second
(http://www.nitot.com/standards/blog/archives/2003_janvier.php) URL
fine. But still crashs with the first
(http://www.maennerseiten.de/orgasmus.htm) Url.

My Sid Konqueror at work don't crash with the first url.

So i have done some further investigations.
at first downloaded like a browser (wget -p
http://www.maennerseiten.de/orgasmus.htm)

And the i have to comment only the embedded object.. stuff out, to get
it working in konqueror. That looks like more a problem with my kde
(KParts/Kio stuff?) setup then with konqueror. If i start from the
command line with object in, i got following message:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~/konqueror orgasmus.htm

xim support in Kate and other apps that use katepart

2006-05-07 Thread Jack Suzuki
Hello,

I'm not too sure where to post this question. If this is the incorrect
place, please let me know and point me in the correct direction. I
tried my best searching for the answer but I'm still at a loss.

I have been using Kate to edit HTML and scripts along with the ability
to edit documents through kio (fish://). I'm starting to get Japanese
clients and now need the ability to input Japanese characters. I can
load Japanese encoded files, manipulate the text via copy and paste, and
save them without issue. My current rather ugly workaround is to type
up JP text in a gnome editor and copy and paste to Kate.

I am using Debian Etch (unstable), KDE 3.5.2, Kate 2.5.2, and scim
1.4.1-1+b1. In Konqueror, right click brings up the context menu, and
Select Input Method XIM is available. Selecting XIM lets me tap
in Japanese characters. So we know that I can tap in international
characters in QT.

I have been in touch with the developers of Kate and Hamish Rodda and
Toshitaka Fujioka say that Kate and KDE 3.2 and up support XIM.

My question is, is there something special about the Debian distrubution
that prevents Kate (and all of the katepart based apps) from taking XIM?
Is there any diagnostics I could do to clarify the situation?

Please CC any responses as I am not subscribed.

Thanks for you bandwidth,
-jack

Bug#366210: not a konsole bug

It works in xterm too, so it must be somewhere else, maybe in su.

Sorry about reporting this bug against the wrong package,
don't know, which would have been the right one.

And you also read the messages that pop up on the first start of kbluetoothd?
I guess that you didn't as it tells you to set
  pin_helper /usr/lib/kdebluetooth/kbluepin;
in /etc/bluetooth/hcid.conf (do not forget to restart hcid after that!)

There are also other pin helpers, some even work with dbus, but the above is a
good and working start.
