PowerPC buildd back online
Greetings, The Debian PowerPC buildd (voltaire) is now back online. I've updated the Debian RT ticket (#86) accordingly. Hopefully it'll be back up and in full operation soon. Thanks, Stephen signature.asc Description: Digital signature
bcm43xx issues an error message every minute
Hello, I get the following error messages about every minute on the console: bcm43xx: PHY connected bcm43xx: Microcode bcm43xx_microcode5.fw not available or load failed bcm43xx: core_up for active 802.11 core failed (-2) The HW is: Apple PowerBook G4 12 (PowerBook 6,8) 1,5 GHz Airport Extreme, Firmware version 405.1 (3.90.34.0.p18) What do I have to do to solve the error? What can I do to stop those error messages showing up every minute until the error is solved? Any hint is welcome. Thanks in advance, G. Still: AIGLX: Screen 0 not dri capable
Hello, I get this error message after startup at the login prompt. The HW is: Apple PowerBook G4 12 (PowerBook 6,8) 1,5 GHz NVidia GeForce FX Go5200 I have already tried dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg and disabled either dri or glx or both, to no avail. X just doesn't start at the login, with various error messages. I'm so desperate that I even consider to recompile the xserver-xorg package and configure it without dri. However I didn't figure out how to do that. I got the source with apt-get source xserver-xorg and am stuck here. How do I configure the build of this module? Is there any other way of fixing this problem? I don't need dri, I don't even need glx, I just want to have X running at the login prompt. Any hint is welcome. Thanks in advance, G. Unfortunately I could not get the fwcutter with apt-get. I needed to download bcm43xx-fwcutter_006-1_powerpc.deb instead/ Thanks again, G. Sound output on PBs
Is it just me or is the audio output on the PB just a poor excuse for gettin an external usb soundcard. For certain aint handling any low/high frequezies without scrambling it. It for sure cant make my 300$ headphones work for the money. I've pretty much decided that I would like my PB to grow a pci slot for my live! soundblaster. I'm using VLC for audioplayback and the equalizer witch follows. Anyone got some clue on what to put my money on, both small, portable and something that I actually can use for audio listening. -- --- Børge http://www.arivene.net ---

Regarding hitting the reset button and network/hardware related issues, yes. I expect someone else will be taking care of the actual care feeding of the buildd process itself. If you like the sound blaster, I think there is something called the extigy you might like, and I think Creative Labs also has a Cardbus sound card.
