Tu as tenté Chromium ?
Re: Netbooks HP/Compac X Samsung no Debian
As teclas sao bem confortaveis. Strange google chrome gdk error.
Hey, I have this odd error that has been bugging me, and I haven't been able to google up anything to help me fix it, only stuff I could find was from 2002 on a freeBSD mailing list. To summarise my problem; I have a quite resource heavy windows program i run in WINE via playonlinux, after running it for quite some time, when i try to open any pages in google chrome, all I get a blank white page, the ui is still there, but nothing renders. The only way to fix this is to close WINE, once i do this it works fine. The only program I can tell that is effected is chrome (I am also running xchat, iceweasel, pidgen, xfce term, and others). This has been happening to me with the default debian 2.6.32 kernel, as well as 2.6.34.1 (vanilla) 2.6.35 (vanilla) 2.6.35 (patched with bfq and some other responsiveness patches). This is the only error message that I have found: [30220:30220:283489464055:ERROR:chrome/app/chrome_dll_main.cc(248)] Gdk: shmget failed: error 28 (No space left on device) $ uname -a Linux veyka 2.6.35amd64-bfq-iowait #1 SMP PREEMPT Mon Aug 9 12:18:53 BST 2010 x86_64 GNU/Linux $ cat /proc/sys/kernel/shmmax 33554432 If there is any other info needed to help diagnose this, pleases let me know! Here's an excerpt from one of my previous posts on this thread: (3) If I am using out-of-kernel-source-tree module source packages, I have to copy them too. By default, the source code installs to /usr/src/modules, I think. All the same issues arise here. And then I have to use the $MODULE_LOC environment variable to tell make-kpkg where to find the module source code. More overrides. It's just simpler to be root and do everything in its default location. Then of course there are disk space requirements, if the source is copied instead of moved. Every solution breeds more problems. (author unknown) The latest version of my kernel building web page, revised yesterday (http://www.wowway.com/~zlinuxman/Kernel.htm), recommends unpacking, configuring, and compiling the kernel from its default location as a non-root user which is a member of group src. It can be the system administrator's non-superuser self or an id created specifically for kernel building that is enrolled in group src, at the administrator's discretion. I have tested the procedure, and it works. That's my current recommendation. Obviously, you are entitled to disagree if you like. -- .''`. grub2: VFS: Unable to mount root fs
Hi everyone, I upgraded grub to grub2 (squeeze) and at first I couldn't boot my linux kernel (2.6.32), which work fine with the old grub. The boot process stopped with the following messages: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on unknown-block(0,0). After some research, I figured that the root fs is not set correctly in / boot/grub/grub.cfg. The root fs was defined with a uuid string, which I confirmed as correct. After altering the uuid string to /dev/sda2, linux would boot normally. Since grub.cfg is not supposed to be edited, I added to /etc/default/grub (thanks to https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Grub2): # Uncomment if you don't want GRUB to pass root=UUID=xxx parameter to # Linux GRUB_DISABLE_LINUX_UUID=true and then ran `update-grub`. I thought this might be helpful for others running into the same problem. Also, any idea why the (again: correct) uuid string didn't work? I have two other systems with a similar set-up and defining the root fs with uuid works just fine. Re: Why is /usr/lib/jvm/java-6-sun/sun-java6-6-12/jdk1.6.0_12 not recognized in update-alternatives?

Re: building 2.6.35
The latest version of my kernel building web page, revised yesterday (http://www.wowway.com/~zlinuxman/Kernel.htm), recommends unpacking, configuring, and compiling the kernel from its default location as a non-root user which is a member of group src. It can be the system administrator's non-superuser self or an id created specifically for kernel building that is enrolled in group src, at the administrator's discretion. I have tested the procedure, and it works. That's my current recommendation. Obviously, you are entitled to disagree if you like. It's a pretty great document Stephen, and I don't think I mentioned earlier that it was my first and authoritative reference when first starting to build kernels, for exactly the reason you noted, much documentation is out-of-date or not debian specific. So thanks for that, belatedly. One thing I think is missing, that I had to discover myself, and perhaps is related to the OPs question, is that sometimes you need the headers and even the source for the custom kernels, e.g., Virtualbox from upstream. In which case, adding kernel_headers and/or kernel_source to the make-kpkg build line is a noteworthy item, since it will build debs' and take care of installing them correctly without linking back to the build directory when searching for source.
