Re: pétition de l'april

2016-09-25 Thread fred
Bonjour,

odt, ...

brindar soporte local, etc. Crees que nos puedas ayudar.
Te agradezco de antemano.

Hola,

Cheers - I don't tend to look at the detailed descriptions of packages I
think I'm familiar with :-)

I might make a suggestion on the kernel list, to add something to the
description of -unsigned packages ...

Richard,

in this context, "signed" means signed for use with UEFI Secure Boot.
Some recent kernels with no mention of signedness in their package name
contain text like this:

"The kernel image and modules are signed for use with Secure Boot."

Does anyone know what the deal is with the recently-released

Is the upstream source you downloaded, different from the upstream source
(the ‘….orig.tar.gz’) to which the Debian packaging is intended to apply?

Especially when patches are needed, you shouldn't expect those patches
to apply to anything except the exact upstream version. The work of a
Debian package maintainer includes re-working the patches for each version.

My guess is either incompatibility of SSH libraries, or, since telnet
also seems to be affected, incompatibility of mDNS eg your older server
is not running Avahi and hence isn't making its presence known. That is
a guess though, and is based on the assumption that both server and
client are on your local network. Situation will no doubt be more
complicated if they are not.

I echo Brian's comment -- start with trying to ping the server from the
client. Can the client see the server? Well actually...

1) Can the client ping the server by IP address not by name? If no,
you have a routing problem between your client and your server and we
will need to know much more about your setup to help you diagnose it.

2) If yes, can the client resolve the name of the server into an IP address
for itself? (determined by whether a ping by name instead of IP address
works in the presence of a positive answer to 1) ). If so, I would start
to suspect incompaitibilities between client and server libraries. If
not, and 1) was yes, you can ssh using the IP address while we
collectively try to figure out why name resolution is not working.

3) If the server is _not_ on the same network as the client, what is the
output of -- "dig " when run from the client?

eg dig myserver.made.up.address.com

(you may need to first install the dnsutils package for dig to work)

For what it's worth, either during wheezy days or maybe late squeeze, I
forget, some other ssh clients I use stopped working with my server because
the client upgraded to a later version of SSH and the server didn't, and
the client would not accept the server's version, regarding it as
insecure, but the error message you got wasn't clear that that was the
issue. Something similar could be going on here if the client side is
less prehistoric than your server side.

I presume advocating an upgrade of your server wouldn't be considered helpful?

boot problem after updating dropbear

Debian Version 7.11 (Wheezy)

Before the update I could ssh to box, connecting with dropbear, and
unlock crypt volumes, then kill the askpass process to continue the boot.

After the update, the ssh session with dropbear is missing all sorts of
stuff; my aliases and other setup files aren't available.

I managed to manually boot by attaching a keyboard to the box and doing
the following:

  - answer "askpass" prompt, it unlocks md0_crypt device which has root

  - it fails to mount other lvm2 volume groups, so Iogin at the
maintenance prompt.

  - I open the two other crypt volumes using:

  cryptsetup luksOpen /dev/md1 md1_crypt

  cryptsetup luksOpen /dev/md2 md2_crypt

  - then I exit from the maintenance prompt and the machine boots
normally from there.

Once back in to the machine, I run the following:

# update-initramfs -k all -u -v

Maybe create a fresh test user account and see if you can reproduce the
problem there. If not, this would suggest that it has something to do
with your current user configuration.

Re: Servidor para receber sms

2016-09-25 Thread Rodolfo
números telefônicos, claro, se você for seguir a linha GSM, se for via

http://www.kannel.org/

via software standalone.

Boa sorte.

FWIW, you can tell xterm to use freetype fonts, e.g.,

xterm -fa "Monospace 12"

Alternatively, use the faceName resource in your ~/.Xresources file.

~/.xessionrc as the primary file for configuring startup of X is not
only not necessary but has a disadvantage from an administrator's
point of view.

Correct, but it neglects an aspect of ~/.xessionrc integration into
Debian's X which renders any editing of Xsession.options by an
adminstrator ineffective. Essentionally, 50x11-common_determine-startup
has

 if [ -z "$STARTUP" ]; then
   if has_option allow-user-xsession; then
for STARTUPFILE in "$USERXSESSION" "$ALTUSERXSESSION"; do

There is no corresponding restriction in 40x11-common_xsessionrc and a
user can put what she wants in ~/.xessionrc. Security is first designed
in and then designed out.

To be fair, the documentation is hazy on this and it is probably a bug.
But surely the purpose of a wiki page is not only to fit and explain the
official documentation but, where necessary, expand on it and even
correct it.

The existence of ~/.xessionrc appears to cause more problems than it
purportedly solves.

Neat! Done as root, of course, because I do not think a user can change
the keymap. The setupcon manual implies a ~/.keyboard can be used but it
does not work for me.

However, a user can set the screen font by specifing a file to use with
VARIANT. This is ~/.console-setup.CYR:

  ACTIVE_CONSOLES="/dev/tty[1-6]"
  CHARMAP="UTF-8"
  CODESET="CyrSlav"
  FONTFACE="TerminusBold"
  FONTSIZE="14x28"

Load it with 'setupcon -f' CYR.

I don't use gnome terminal, but for lack of anyone throwing anything else
against
the wall, the next two things I would try are:

1. If there is an application cache, clear it; and
2. If the application uses profiles of any kind, try a new, blank one.

Related to those, you could create a new regular user, and log in as him/her,
which
should give a "blank slate" to test from. Lastly, purge the application and all
config files and re-install (or just install Terminator or some such
replacement).

Note: Debian packages do not require to be built by root, so it's better

I think what you have here is a package-specific problem. The Debian
build is attempting to apply patches to the source. Since you have
grafted in newer source, I suspect the affected source file has been
updated in an incompatible way and now the patch doesn't work
(presumably because the lines it expects to change are either gone or
are no longer at the expected line numbers in the source file).

What can you do about this? Not a lot, except maybe if you have the
skills take the Debian Testing source, apply the patch yourself to get
the patched source file, then diff this with the newer source file and
figure out if the intent of the patch is still needed. If so, you'd need
to apply it manually to the updated source, or, if you are lucky, obtain
an updated patch from somewhere.

Depending on how strong a programmer you are, you may or may not be able
to do this. Another option would be to go back to the package developers
(the original developers, not the Debian package maintainer) and ask if
they have an updated version of the patch, if it is still needed /
recommended.

I assume there isn't a sufficiently up to date version of the package in
sid??? :-)

Building Debian Package From Upstream Source

2016-09-25 Thread Stephen Allen
Hi, wanting to upgrade to a newer version of Liferea than what's in
Testing.

So, I downloaded the upstream source, downloaded the most recent version
of the Debian Package, so that I have a Debian source tree. Next I
copied the Debian source tree directory from the existing Debian source
package into the upstream source, with Debian dsc and OrigSrc one level
up.
Then I ran 'dpkg-buildpackage -us -uc -j4' as root' which gave me the
following error;

dpkg-buildpackage: info: source package liferea

 dpkg-buildpackage: error: dpkg-source --before-build liferea-1.12-rc1a

I'm new to building Debian packages, so any suggestions appreciated,
 I'm running Debian 'Testing'.

I just scrolled around in Mutt, exercising the issue, for a few minutes
while another terminal was running sudo tail -f /var/log/syslog and yet
another was running sudo journalctl -f, and silence from both of them
while doing the test. The only thing close was this, but it was already
in the log when I started the test, so is probably caused by something
else:

Sep 25 22:39:27 kazuki gnome-session[2374]:
(gnome-settings-daemon:2482): GLib-CRITICAL **: Source ID 1714 was not
found when attempting to remove it

Apart from that, nothing that looks likely connected and nothing at all
while I was observing the issue in Mutt in one Gnome terminal while
watching these logs in two others.

I have noticed since my first post that, if I wait long enough (at least
several seconds, sometimes almost a minute) the scrolling keystroke IS
eventually responded to. As I said before, the machine is not under load
that is in any way abnormal -- 2 Windows 7 VMs that aren't doing
anything if I am using a terminal because they are on other Gnome pages,
a bunch of terminals open, and maybe a program or two more open. But the
box is a chunky machine and all other apps are functioning completely
normally. I am only seeing this behaviour in Gnome Terminal.

I'd be suspecting my keyboard needs fresh batteries (ASUS Bluetooth
keyboard) if it weren't for the fact that normal typing is completely
fine and all other apps are fine anyway.
