It it is not a benchmark because for different processors and manufacturers it is calculated with a different formula, so two comparable systems may have very different bogomips-values. But it is a method for controlling if your system is optimal configured: Calculate for your processor with the formula from the howto and compare with the bootmessage. Bernd Mayer

Andere Linux-Zeitschriften bringen mit vergleichbarer Dateigrösse eine ganze Monatsausgabe mit etlichen Seiten ins Netz. Auch habe ich noch in Erinnerung, daß das ganze Linuxhandbuch von LunetiX (ca. 500 Seiten) etwas über 700 kB benötigt. Das ist mir bei der Seite auf der Du webmaster bist aufgefallen. Bernd Mayer

If my calculations are correct it looks as if it would be possible to copy all files from /dev/sda6 to /dev/sda7 (with copy -dpR) and then you have to change your fstab. After testing if everything is ok you may even go further and do the reverse with /home on /dev/sda7. In any case it is a good idea to have a Linux Boot-Disk prepared and tested. A backup too is advisable before changing your system. Hello Margaret, with gv it is possible to print only marked pages if you first select them: In the left bottom corner is a non-text-box where you can mark either individual pages for printing or only even pages or odd pages (good for double-sided-printing of large manuals).
