Basically for ease of compatibility with others in the group I am working with. In particular, I need to use Simulink or something very compatible with it. I am not aware that Octave has anything like that. Scilab does, but I don't know how easy it is to port over code written in Scilab's version to Matlab. Any more ideas on my matlab problem? Hi I am tryng to get matlab 5 working on my Toshiba laptop. I have run S56flexlm to set up the license manager. When I try to run matlab I receive the error message: /usr/local/src/matlab5/bin/lnx86/matlab: can't resolve symbol '__register_exceptions' Does anyone know hoow to fix this? Emacs and PCMCIA cards
Hi Whenever I have PCMCIA cards running on my (Toshiba) laptop it is impossible to open emacs from the console (rather than in an X environment). Emacs just hangs and the only way to stop it is to kill the process from another virtual console. Recently, after using my modem, and then removing the modem card I tried to run emacs and received teh following message: eth0:trigger-send() called with the transmitter busy. Why should emacs interact in this way with (presumably) the card manager and how do I overcome the problem. olvwm
Hi I am (still) trying to get olvwm to work under debian. When I run /usr/bin/X11/olvwm, I receive the message Cannot connect to (NULL DISPLAY) I have a .DISPLAY file in my home directory with :0.0 in it. When I type env I cannot find a DISPLAY variable. HI Tibor does the error persist when you run: `startx /usr/bin/X11/olvwm' with _empty_ .xinitrc file? if not, how olwm behaves? I get the same error.
