Help with ATI Rage Fury Pro 128

Help configuring debconf
Thak you, I got back my French keyboard. But now I have another problem : while trying to configure debconf (and the other packages depending on debconf), the configuring script issues the message "Debconf is running in web mode. Go to http://localhost:8001." Then the script seems to stop, maybe waiting for the answers to the questions to be given at the port 8001. Of course, since I have not installed debconf, I cannot install lynx or other http client, which seems to depend on debconf. Now, I would like to reconfigure debconf to be installed in normal (text) mode, and not in http mode. I tried dpkg-preconfigure and dpkg-reconfigure without any result. Can anybody help me ? I have exactly the same problem, but with a remote (network) printer. I tried lpd instead of LprNG, the problem stays. It might be a bug somewhere. Maybe we should file a bug report ? I have local and remote lpd and smb printers working. Well, me too, it just happens that after upgrading my potato packages to the latest versions and installing KDE, I am not able to print anymore. Network Printer
Hello. I have a stand-alone network printer (Xerox NC 60 PS3) and try to use it with Debian potato. When Isend a job to the printer via the printing daemon (lpr), everything seems normal, I mean the job is removed and I got no error messages, but the printer prints nothing. Now, I tried both Lprng an lpd, the result is the same. With lprng, I sometimes got the message "Nothing to print", but usually everything happens as the job had been printed. The jobs are however correctly printed with rlpr -H on the remote printer... Does anybody know the reason of my trouble ? Could it be linked to KDE's "HP Laserjet utility" ? Before installing KDE, I had the same printcap files, and everything worked fine. Help ! -- Petru NOTINGHER jr. Re: HP Laserjet 1100
Thanks a lot. In fact, I tried the same filters, and it works, as you say. By the way, do you know how to use the scanner ? Petru Hi there, I use Debian 2.1 I have had the HP 1100 for some time. I have no problem using the printer at 300 dpi and 600 dpi. I use the magicfilter system that comes with Debian. I use the ljet4-filter and the ljet4l-filter. They both work beautifully, especially when printing postscript files. I can send a copy of them if you need to have them. Pb : ppp with Mozilla 4.51 2.2.4
Hi folks. I have a little problem with Mozilla 4.51 under 2.2.4: since I've upgraded from 2.0.36 for a PnP card, Mozilla started to suck : when I push 'Get Messages', the button grays, but I can wait for years, I never get my messages. My ppp connection still works, I've verified it with ping and ftp in command line. It's the same with HTTP : 'Connected to...', and then nothing. Now, I suppose that's related to the kernel, because the problem stays when using lynx. Anybody has an idea ? Thanks. Petru -- Petru NOTINGHER jr. SB64 PCI + CD audio Problem
Thanks a lot. In fact, I chose the ES1370 and all the .wav files play.
