Thank you Dejan. I will check these logs.

Additionally I've noticed an empty file
/var/log/unattended-upgrades/unattended-upgrades-shutdown.log

What is it used for?

Do you know whether this problem was reported as debian bug for
kernel-package?

Hello Ulf, hello Debian,

Ulf thanks for the link. It helps me! After some talking in upstream
(ticket https://github.com/hadess/iio-sensor-proxy/issues/134)

and giving some info about the problem it looks that is a bug in kernel

This is a bug in the kernel. Which might be fixed by:
http://www.spinics.net/lists/platform-driver-x86/msg09702.html

This is the Fedora bug for it:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1401614

The upstream ask to give this information to distribution mainteiner, so
I am cc to Ritesh
Raj Sarraf.

I tried fill the bug report, but accidentally reportbug crashes on
gnome3 (stacktrace below):

karol@debian:~$ reportbug

iio-sensor-proxy fills my syslog on debian testing

2017-01-21 Thread iqwue Wabv

Hello,

I noticed that my /var/log/syslog is incredibly fast filled with the
following messages:

iio-sensor-prox[719]: Could not open input accel '/dev/input/event17':
Operation not permitted

why?

You may want to try linux-image-4.7 from jessie-backports. image-4.8 or
image-4.9 are not working with Sid or Testing and the i965 chip, on my
system anyways. I'm using the 4.7 kernel and it works swell.

Hello Jimmy,

Thanks for info about linux-image-4.8, 4.9 and i965. I switched to
4.8.0-1-686-pae first - segmentation faults occurred on 4.8.0-2-686-pae
- the image from 4.1.2017..

Maybe -1 is ok...

debian on lenovo carbon thinkpad 4th generation confirmation report

2016-11-26 Thread iqwue Wabv

Hello,

I would like to confirm the successfully running Debian testing
'stretch' on Lenovo Thinkpad Carbon X1 4th generation:

TYPE 20FC-0038PB production 16/07

1) jessie wifi doesn't work because lack of drivers for IntelĀ® Dual Band
Wireless-AC 8260

which is only available in >4.1 linux kernel. So I have to upgrade my
installation from jessie to testing

2) after adding firmware
https://wireless.wiki.kernel.org/_media/en/users/drivers/iwlwifi-8000-ucode-25.30.13.0.tgz

to /lib/firmware wifi works correctly

3) audio and video works

4) suspend/resume works

5) gnome desktop works

6) usb 3.0 works

7) keyboard/touchpad works

Greets to all Debian users,

Karol
