Clobbered digest volumes (more info)

2012-06-15 Thread Gary Roach
Looking closer at the problem, (see Clobbered digest volumes in Volume
2012 #1342) I find that I occasionally receive a correct message. The
returns of my own are correct and some others. The bad messages all have
the header information after the text and trigger the error message:

Error: msgHdr.folder is null
Source File: chrome://messenger/content/mailWindowOverlay.js
Line: 2696
The ones received correctly have the header / text in the correct order
and don't generate the error. It appears that icedove can't find the
header information if it is in the reverse order. Duh!!.

So the question is why am I receiving messages with the order flipped???

I also note that the full (expanded) header is alway printed in both
cases even though icedove header switch is set to normal.

Help

Clobbered digest volumes

2012-06-14 Thread Gary Roach
I am pasting in a sample of what I am receiving from you. This problem
has been around for about a month. I have no idea what is going on. I
use Icedove on a Debian Squeeze system and a verizon.net provider. Any
help will be appreciated.

It turns out this is bug #422327, which dates all the way back to
2007, and nothing has been done about it. The bug report even
suggested a patch (well, not exactly a patch with actual code changes,
but at least a design that could be used to generate code changes)

Sigh!

If I get some time, I'll see if I can work up a patch...
