David - there's a very similar set of queries on debian-laptop at the moment
also about a Dell E6520. Are you using one that has Nvidia graphics with the
Nvidia N4200M?

If so, you have it working using the Optimus packages?

I'll pass that info back when I receive confirmation - that may well
explain why the person in debian-laptop is having lockups.

All the very best, as ever,

Hi David,

I have been using Mozilla's builds for Forefox and I have been happy

I downloaded and installed firefox-95.0.1.tar.bz2 from Mozilla.  The
Firefox extensions are working as expected, and the Firefox / Xfce
desktop stability problems seem to have gone away.

Unfortunately, this only seems to be true on the Dell Latitude E6520
(Optimus graphics) with Debian 9. On Debian 10, Amazon video locks up
within a minute to two. On Debian 11, Amazon video locks up within ~30
minutes.

Running firefox-esr 78.15.0esr-1~deb10u1 here.

Icons display fine here, but in any case, you should be able to
configure your add-ons from about:addons (or burger menu -> Add-ons, or
Ctrl-Shift-A).
