I don't believe blagg is packaged, but it's just a short script. blosxom is packaged in sid, at least. The two of them make it easy to set something like this up: http://www.mcgroarty.net/inkfeed/ blagg is used to grab from rss feeds (you can do it in a cron job if you like), and blosxom is used to publish the data. The advantage of this approach is that you can read from any machine with a web browser if you set it up on a net-facing machine, and you can style it however you please. Basically I need a ticker like the one in Evolution's Summary page but don't want to have to run Evolution to have it. You could use gkrellm-newsticker. If you use sid, you should not use the current version of gkrellm with gkrellm-newsticker, as gkrellm-newsticker (like some of the other plugins) doesn't work if the gkrellm version is = 2. Alternately, you could do something like what I have done (and is not X dependant), and write your own script. I wanted something similar to what you want, but I wanted it for the console. My script is a little long to send to the list (365 lines), but if you want to take a look at it, let me know, and I'll send a tarball containing it. -- Seneca [EMAIL PROTECTED] -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. anyone recommend news aggregator (rss/rdf) ?
Hi - can anyone recommend a news aggregator similar to k.r.s.s. that is not dependant on a window manager (KDE/gnome/WM)? Basically I need a ticker like the one in Evolution's Summary page but don't want to have to run Evolution to have it. Thank you, Shawn P.S. - to sylpheed-claws developers/users - would this be a good function to add to sylpheed-claws? -- Shawn Lamson [EMAIL PROTECTED] Debian GNU/Linux 3.0 -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe.
