Bug#586505: ITP: python-easygui - A module for very simple, very easy GUI programming in Python
-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE- Hash: SHA1 Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist EasyGUI is a module for very simple, very easy GUI programming in Python. Experienced Pythonistas need support for quick and dirty GUI features. New Python programmers need GUI capabilities that don't require any knowledge of Tkinter, frames, widgets, callbacks or lambda. This is what EasyGUI provides. Using EasyGUI, all GUI interactions are invoked by simple function calls. EasyGUI is different from other GUIs in that EasyGUI is NOT event-driven. It allows you to program in a traditional linear fashion, and to put up dialogs for simple input and output when you need to. If you have not yet learned the event-driven paradigm for GUI programming, EasyGUI will allow you to be productive with very basic tasks immediately. Later, if you wish to make the transition to an event-driven GUI paradigm, you can do so with a more powerful GUI package such as anygui, PythonCard, Tkinter, wxPython, etc. EasyGUI is released under the Creative Commons Attribution 2.0 License My package is available here: http://www.noteng.no/deb/python-easygui/ -BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE- Version: GnuPG v1.4.10 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org/ iEYEARECAAYFAkwdvDgACgkQc3gI15Pmn++t6wCgimfDSTDAvNcYQ0piYsniGdj5 DRQAni2GiWwE4/gFqMM/A0PY3DMYquav =xwnH -END PGP SIGNATURE- -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-wnpp-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Therefore the team has agreed it should be orphaned. There's been a new upstream version for 2 years and the package is in a pretty bad state. In my opinion, we inherited it in a pretty bad way and to get the package to a maintainable state the packaging needs some serious reworking, rather than just continuing to hack on the existing mess. The edubuntu guys are interested in working together and we've done some patch trading with them. If someone wants to pick up the package I'm sure they'll find a good source of collaboration there. Bug#586355: Freeness controversy
Hi, This is a message for the ftp-masters when they will review this package. I have opened a discussion about the freeness of php-recaptcha. I believe recaptcha is a system involving an RPC with a captcha picture that is computed remotely, which makes php-recaptcha a valid candidate for the contrib repository. Others had other opinions, it seems. Please read on: http://lists.debian.org/debian-devel/2010/06/msg00412.html Whatever will be the final decision, I will respect it, I just wanted to make sure that everybody was aware of the consequences it might have.
