Yes. Thanks to all for help!

We have python 2.6 by default in sid now, so this is no longer a blocker.

Yes. It is not problem now..

The ubuntu package builds unmodified on Debian but it requires some
packages which are in NEW for now (libindicate for python-indicate).
It does not work here though, it has troubles with desktopcouch
 apparently not sure why.

Right. Only blocker is: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=573061

gwibber like to start couchdb when it starts. However, I just used
couchdb package from Ubuntu and got following:

gwibber uses desktopcouch to store messages, and desktopcouch starts a
local couchdb instance... the question is why doesn't it work as it
should?

Here it managed to start the local couchdb but apparently the port number
that has been allocated has never been communicated back to the client
application through dbus.

In your cases it rather looks like that the server was no longer there
(or do you have firewalling that could forbid it?).

advanced features such as full-text search in the presentation slides.

Due to the minimal size and maximum configurability, Pyntor is a nice
 alternative to conventional presentation programs.

Bug#586505: ITP: python-easygui - A module for very simple, very easy GUI programming in Python

2010-06-20 Thread Andreas Noteng
-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-
Hash: SHA1

Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist

EasyGUI is a module for very simple, very easy GUI programming in Python.

Experienced Pythonistas need support for quick and dirty GUI features.
New Python programmers need GUI capabilities that don't require any
knowledge of Tkinter, frames, widgets, callbacks or lambda. This is what
EasyGUI provides. Using EasyGUI, all GUI interactions are invoked by
simple function calls.

EasyGUI is different from other GUIs in that EasyGUI is NOT
event-driven. It allows you to program in a traditional linear fashion,
and to put up dialogs for simple input and output when you need to. If
you have not yet learned the event-driven paradigm for GUI programming,
EasyGUI will allow you to be productive with very basic tasks
immediately. Later, if you wish to make the transition to an
event-driven GUI paradigm, you can do so with a more powerful GUI
package such as anygui, PythonCard, Tkinter, wxPython, etc.

EasyGUI is released under the Creative Commons Attribution 2.0 License

Lightspark is a modern, free, open-source flash player implementation.

Lightspark features:

JIT compilation of Actionscript to native x86 bytecode using LLVM

Hardware accelerated rendering using OpenGL Shaders (GLSL)

Very good and robust support for current-generation Actionscript 3

A new, clean, codebase exploiting multithreading and optimized for modern

hardware. Designed from scratch after the official Flash documentation

was released.

It would be great for the PowerPC arch as there is no possibility to

  Description : A buffering proxy for moo-connections

Mooproxy is a buffering proxy for MOOs (a class of text-based RPGs,
descending from MUDs). The MOO client connects to mooproxy, and mooproxy
connects to the MOO server.
.
Mooproxy keeps you connected to the MOO server if the client disconnects
(voluntarily, because of network problems, because the client crashes,
because of a power outage, etc).
.
Mooproxy also provides centralised logging, buffers text when the client
isn't connected, and provides context when the client does connect.

Provides localization support for Ruby on Rails applications using the
familiar GNU Gettext syntax and semantics. Its main features are:

* Autodetects client's locale using locale/locale_rails.
* Easy maintainance of translations using the powerful gettext tools.
* Model translation using gettext_activerecord.
* Localization for some helpers.
* Works with other Rails I18n backends (note that gettext_rails is not
  one of the I18n backends)

Even though we have a team for the maintenance of this package, we are
unfortunately unable to keep up with it. Therefore the team has agreed it
should be orphaned.

There's been a new upstream version for 2 years and the package is in a
pretty bad state. In my opinion, we inherited it in a pretty bad way and
to get the package to a maintainable state the packaging needs some serious
reworking, rather than just continuing to hack on the existing mess.

The edubuntu guys are interested in working together and we've done some
patch trading with them. If someone wants to pick up the package I'm sure
they'll find a good source of collaboration there.

If a maintainer isn't found for this package, I suggest it is removed from
the archive. I intend to start this process in a few weeks if a maintainer
isn't found.

Bug#586153: RFS: jcsp (new package)

2010-06-20 Thread Miguel Landaeta
Hi team,

I am looking for a sponsor for my package jcsp.

* Package name: jcsp
  Version : 1.1-rc4-1
Upstream Author : Peter Welch, Paul Austin
* URL : http://www.cs.kent.ac.uk/projects/ofa/jcsp/
* License : LGPL-2.1
  Section : java

It builds these binary packages:
libjcsp-java - Java library providing Communicating Sequential Processes (CSP)
features
libjcsp-java-doc - Documentation for libjcsp-java

The package appears to be lintian clean.
The upload would fix these bugs: 586153.

My motivation for maintaining this package is:
I'm packaging software that needs this library.
Besides, some software written in Groovy (e.g. GPars)
and Scala depends on this library.

The package can be found on mentors.debian.net:
- URL: http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/j/jcsp
- Source repository: deb-src http://mentors.debian.net/debian unstable main
contrib non-free
- dget http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/j/jcsp/jcsp_1.1-rc4-1.dsc
- Vcs-Git: git://git.debian.org/git/pkg-java/jcsp.git

I would be glad if someone uploaded this package for me.

Regards,

Bug#558137: More updated 4store package

2010-06-20 Thread Dave Beckett
I applied Kjetil's patch and made some other changes to give 1.0.3-2
at http://download.dajobe.org/debian/unstable/

 4store (1.0.3-2) unstable; urgency=low
 .
   * debian/control: Build-Depend: on libavahi-client-dev and libavahi-glib-dev
 to get mDNS enabled
   * set initial KB to 'default'
   * really run server as user 'fourstore'
   * do not run server at package install time
   * install a skeleton /etc/default/4store

Getting closer to what I'd submit, but I'd like a co-maintainer.

Bug#575877: libspring-java: Status Update

2010-06-20 Thread Damien Raude-Morvan
Hi Miguel,

I've commited my initial libspring-java package [1] for Spring Framework 3.x
using all packages you have worked on (thank you, BTW :).
Vcs-Svn: svn://svn.debian.org/svn/pkg-java/trunk/libspring-java/
Vcs-Browser: http://svn.debian.org/wsvn/pkg-java/trunk/libspring-java/

To build this package, you'll need spring-build-scripts package (a collection
of Ant tasks + Ant XML scripts) :
Vcs-Svn: svn://svn.debian.org/svn/pkg-java/trunk/spring-build/
Vcs-Browser: http://svn.debian.org/wsvn/pkg-java/trunk/spring-build/

Free free to comment on my initial work and maybe add yourself as Uploaders if
you want to work as co-maintainer.

Cheers,

Bug#557275: just a note

2010-06-20 Thread Neil Williams
Just a note about ltmain.sh in this package. Lintian is correct, it is
out of date, the problem is that this is only the tip of the iceberg.
configure.ac is out of date too and needs patching before autoreconf
can be used to update the rest of the build.

If this causes a FTBFS, I'll seek removal of this package.

 Hi Miguel,

Sure, count me in as co-maintainer. I will take a look up with this package.

From my side I am packaging the last missing deps:
* This week I asked for sponsoring for mojarra (Torsten was reviewing it).
* I'm working to complete the packaging for Castor.

Cheers,

Bug#586609: RFP: OSSEC -- Free and very powerfull HIDS

have restrictions on software being installed on systems (such as FDA approved

Bug#586355: Freeness controversy

2010-06-20 Thread Thomas Goirand
Hi,

This is a message for the ftp-masters when they will review this
package. I have opened a discussion about the freeness of php-recaptcha.
I believe recaptcha is a system involving an RPC with a captcha picture
that is computed remotely, which makes php-recaptcha a valid candidate
for the contrib repository. Others had other opinions, it seems. Please
read on:

http://lists.debian.org/debian-devel/2010/06/msg00412.html

Whatever will be the final decision, I will respect it, I just wanted to
make sure that everybody was aware of the consequences it might have.

Thomas
