Bug#475377: Considering to RM afnix

2011-11-13 Thread Nobuhiro Iwamatsu
Hi, Niels.

2011/11/7 Niels Thykier ni...@thykier.net:

 Hi,

 I am considering to remove afnix, since it is unmaintained and has a
 very low popcon.  However, there has been QA uploads to bump upstream
 releases twice this year (both uploaders CC'ed).
  If you have any interest in this package, please consider adopting it.
  Otherwise I will push for its removal.

OK, I understood it. I adopt this package.
I update Maintainer later and upload it.

Best regards,
  Nobuhiro

This package was removed from Debian due to lack of maintenance. Recently
the upstream has released fresh versions, which I will package and maintain
for Debian.

* Package name: twclock
  Version : 3.1
  Upstream Author : Ted Williams WA0EIR wa0...@mchsi.com
* URL : http://wa0eir.home.mchsi.com/
* License : GPL-2+
  Programming Lang: C++
  Description : World clock for ham radio operators

 It also has an ID timer to generate a CW ID via your soundcard and
 pulseaudio. Connect the output of your soundcard to the audio-in pin
 of your rig's accessory jack to have it transmitted.
 .
 This program is a clock designed for ham radio operators, anyone who
 needs the time of day someplace else in the world, or anyone tired of
 the same old look of their clock. It can display the current time and
 date in hundreds of cities around the world.

  Description : Powerful, high-performance templating for the web and beyond

Mason is a powerful Perl-based templating system, designed to generate
dynamic content of all kinds.

Unlike many templating systems, Mason does not attempt to invent an
alternate, easier syntax for templates. It provides a set of syntax
and features specific to template creation, but underneath it is still
clearly and proudly recognizable as Perl.

Mason is most often used for generating web pages. It can handle web
requests directly via PSGI, or act as the view layer for a web framework
such as Catalyst or Dancer.

The previous major version of Mason (1.x) is - and continues to be -
available under the name HTML::Mason (libhtml-mason-perl).

  Version : 3.0.2
* URL : http://live.gnome.org/GnomeShell/Extensions
* License : GPLv2
  Programming Lang: JavaScript, CSS
  Description : Extensions to extend functionality of GNOME Shell

The GNOME Shell redefines user interactions with the GNOME desktop. In
particular, it offers new paradigms for launching applications,
accessing documents, and organizing open windows in GNOME. Later, it
will introduce a new applets eco-system and offer new solutions for
other desktop features, such as notifications and contacts management.
The GNOME Shell is intended to replace functions handled by the GNOME
Panel and by the window manager in previous versions of GNOME. The GNOME
Shell has rich visual effects enabled by new graphical technologies.
.
This package contains a set of extensions which add functionality and/or
add to the looks of the GNOME Shell desktop.

 @Ben:
 I still think this driver should be added as alternative driver to the

One possible solution I see would be to upload r8168 to sid (or
experimental) and add a severity=serious bug r8168 should not enter
testing - let's fix r8169 in the kernel instead to prevent migration.
Documentation should include detailed instructions how to properly
report bugs for the in-kernel r8169 if it does not work (but r8168 does).

Do I see it correctly that this driver is to be classified as non-free?
The source code says GPL2+, but 50% of the source lines is something like
mdio_write(tp, 0x1E, 0x0078);
making this look very 'blobby'.

Description: tool chain to forge a gcode skein for a model

The tool chain starts with carve, which carves
the model into layers, then the layers are modified by
other tools in turn like fill, comb, tower, raft,
stretch, hop, wipe, oozebane, fillet export.
Each tool automatically gets the gcode from the
previous tool. So if you want a carved filled
gcode, call the fill tool and it will call carve,
then it will fill and output the gcode. If you
want to use all the tools, call export and it will
call in turn all the other tools down the chain
to produce the gcode file.

The skeinforge module provides a single
place to call up all the preference
dialogs. When the 'Skeinforge' button is
clicked, skeinforge calls export,
since that is the end of the chain.

Those sequences are reconfiguring the PHY, but some of them also patch

request_firmware() for the latter.

archive, until r8169 will do its job for the promoted PCIIDs correctly.

I do not agree.
The package description and README should state, that it is an alternate
driver which should be used, if r8169 does not work.

It SHOULD enter wheezy as alternative, if r8169 is still buggy.

What should be handled by upstream and what should be fixed is outside
of this discussion and I am still available to sponsor the upload :)

But btw isn't http://code.google.com/p/r8168/ the better homepage for it?

Cheers

Bug#648651: ITP: rfc-tools -- small tools to work with IETF's RFC documents

2011-11-13 Thread Thomas Koch
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Thomas Koch tho...@koch.ro

-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-
Hash: SHA256

Rationale: The doc-rfc package has collected a couple of wishlist issues
suggesting the addition of small helpers. Such helpers however are best
packaged separately to decouple updates to such helpers from the updates to
100M RFC data.
All doc-rfc-* packages will then be updated to recommend this package.

This package should be a debian native package.

* License : What the fuck license (open for better suggestions)
  Description : small tools to work with IETF's RFC documents

This package collects small tools or additional informations that help to work
with Request for comments documents.

 * build Bibtex entries for RFC documents (Closes: #648205)
 * rfc command to quickly open a rfc document given a number or keyword
   (Closes: #296635, #116567, #272826, #31383, #74385)
 * Recommend available rfc readers: emacs-goodies-el and qrfcview
 * This package could also become a build-dependency for doc-ref and include
   some of the scripts to download and process data from rfc-editor.org

I'm sure that more ideas will flow into this package once it exists.

Regards,

Thomas Koch

  Description : turn based strategy war game

Saw some people talking about it on launchpad, was an moderately straight
forward java package (had to use debian libraries and delete third party jars)

have a working package [1] and finishing up some cleaning up of it. I won't
package the server until derby is packaged (there is an ongoing ITP on that
library updated a couple days ago), just the game and client.

It's a fun game, similar in style to Axis and Allies ( (C) and (TM) Wizards of
the Coast/Hasbro), but with many additional player contributed maps and tools
to build your own games/maps (and distribute them or find collections of other
maps)

Also allows for semi-centralized ladder play for free over the internet.

Bug#648656: ITP: sisu-guice -- Patched build of Google Guice for Sisu-IoC

  This package is a dependency of Maven 3.x

Hi Thomas,

 Is there a bug in the tracker of sisu-guice to ask them to work their
 things out with Guice and get their modifications included upstream, so
 that they can build against regular Guice?

Good idea, I've submitted this issue to Sonatype team :
https://issues.sonatype.org/browse/SISU-119

AFAIK, Guice team doesn't wish to apply [1] some patches of sisu-guice
(don't have much details).

Bug#648681: ITP: Liero -- An earthworm simulation game based on a real physical model

Version : 1.35b2+hg20100123.1
Upstream Author : Erik Lindroos gliptic and basro
* URL : http://www.liero.be/ http://code.google.com/p/liero/
* License : BSD-2-Clause
Description :
Liero is a wormgame with weapons for 2 players. The object of the game
is definately what you think it is. Liero is excellent for taking out
aggression and kicking buddies' butts without any real physical
violence or just for having fun.

In 2009, the classic Liero 1.33 was merged with the revival project
called OpenLiero and became Liero 1.34. The current version is 1.35b2,
and while keeping Liero 1.33 intact, it has been given a semi-hidden
extra menu (accessible with F1), which allows players to among other
things record replays of their games.

This package is only the game engine, game content will be packaged as
liero-data in non-free (though hopefully the binary content will be
wtfpl of similar). It build-depends on gvl, which will be packaged
separately.

Bug#582090: ITP: viewnior -- simple, fast and elegant image viewer

2011-11-13 Thread Yao Wei
It seems nice to have a helper who also wants to get this into debian. However,
the package dependency makes it more complex to do so.

It uses a modified version of gtkimageview which is done by the author itself,
but the library is needed to be stripped out of viewnior to get into Debian for
maintenance reasons, and viewnior's author doesn't like to do so.

Paul Liu (a DD which seems can help us sponsor uploading this package) suggests
we should contact gtkimageview author to incorporate the library changes from
viewnior, but I don't know the way how should we do, and I am too
unconcerntrate on this ITP.

Help me,
Yao Wei

- 原始郵件 -
 Lubuntu is very interested in including Viewnior as its default image
 viewer for Lubuntu 12.04.   I am an Lubuntu developer.

 I have previous Debian/Ubuntu packaging experience.   I am willing to
 package Viewnior for Debian (and so Ubuntu), and in fact I have already
 packaged it.   I do not want to step on someone's toes; can we work
 together, or is it OK for me to continue this work and seek a sponsor to
 get this package into Debian?

 Thanks,

 Jonathan

Package: wnpp

We request an adopter for the smokeping package.

The long description is:

 SmokePing consists of a daemon process which organizes the
 latency measurements and a CGI which presents the graphs.
 .
 With SmokePing you can measure latency and packet loss in your network.
 SmokePing uses RRDtool to maintain a longterm datastore and to draw pretty
 graphs giving up to the minute information on the state of each
 network connection.

While I'm an upstream co-author, it's been a few years since I actively
did any SmokePing development. It's fulfilling my needs and my interests
have since shifted elsewhere. The main upstream author, Tobias Oetiker,
still occasionally develops new features.

The other Debian maintainer, Jose Carlos Garcia Sogo, no longer uses
the package and agrees with this request.

The package is in the collab-maint git repository, feel free to commit there.
