  Upstream Author : Dmitry Prazdnichnov
* URL : https://github.com/bambocher/pocketsphinx-python/

Description : Speech recognition tool - Python3 bindings

CMU Sphinx is a large vocabulary, speaker-independent continuous speech
 recognition engine.
 .
This package contains Python3 bindings for libpocketsphinx.

This is related to the request in bug 943646: the python bindings from
the pocketsphinx package are not evolving as much as people seem to
want, so Dmitry reworked it, and e.g. pypi is now tracking it. Nickolay
himself said it should be fine to package these Python bindings instead
of those from pocketsphinx, thus proposing doing so.

Bug#954465: O: xstarfish -- X wallpaper generator

2020-03-21 Thread Adam Borowski
Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

Hi!
As this package's source causes notorious QA woe (source fails to unpack on
some filesystems, there are invalid tarballs inside, lots of binary junk
from a proprietary MacOS (not even OSX) tool, compiled binaries, etc)
-- and, the package hasn't seen a maintainer upload in ten years, I'm
orphaning it now.

The package description is:
XStarfish generates colourful, tiled images for your background using random
numbers fed through mathematical functions. It does not use source image
files, so it can generate its images nearly forever without running out of
 material.

I request an adopter for the pixz package. Since pristine-tar added a
depends on it, it's rather widely installed, but I don't have the time
and energy to pay very much attention to it. I don't know how active
upstream is, but there are commits from October of 2019 on github.

The package description is:
Pixz is a multithreaded compressor/decompressor XZ fully compatible
with those provided by xz-utils and busybox. By default it adds
indexing information when compressing tar files that allows fast
 listing and partial-archive extraction.

Bug#954254: RFA response

2020-03-21 Thread Boyuan Yang
X-Debbugs-CC: lm...@cs.uni-frankfurt.de

Hi Leon,

Uploaded with some modification. Comments:

* Please send a request for sponsorship (RFS) email to
http://bugs.debian.org/sponsorship-requests to request others in uploading
your package in the future; otherwise people generally will be aware of your
work. I actually *accidentally* saw your email in #954254 and such lucky event
may not happen again :-/

* There is a typo in the Upstream-Contact field of debian/copyright file. I
have fixed it.

* There is an extra tab in the Build-Depends field. I have fixed it.

* Vcs-* fields should indicate the packaging git repo, not upstream git repo.
If you want to provide information about upstream git repo, please write it in
the debian/upstream/metadata file following
https://wiki.debian.org/UpstreamMetadata . I have dropped those lines from
debian/control. If you need to create a git packaging repo like
https://salsa.debian.org/debian/pixz , please let me know and I can help to
create such repo and grant you a GitLab "Maintainer" permission for this repo.

* Please consider indicating the origin of patches that you introduced in this
upload. You are welcome to use grammar indicated in DEP-3 (
https://dep-team.pages.debian.net/deps/dep3/). I walked through the upstream
git repo and found that it was cherry-picked from upstream trunk. It's better
if you can indicate it in the patch file so that I can find it easily :-)

Thanks for your work and package adoption!

Hi Josue,
what's the status here? Are you still interested in adopting it and working on
it? Otherwise I'll file an RM bug soon, as nicotine isn't ported to Python 3
and one of the last dependencies on pygtk2 (which is also going away like Py2)

Cheers,
Moritz

Package name: emacs-websocket
Version : 1.10+17.g491a60b-1 (declares 1.12, but untagged)
Upstream Author : Andrew Hyatt
URL : https://github.com/ahyatt/emacs-websocket
License : GPL-3+
Programming Lang: elisp
Description : Emacs WebSocket client and server

Emacs Websocket is an elisp library that allows websocket clients to
talk to websocket servers, and websocket servers to accept
connections from websocket clients. This library is designed to be
used by other library writers, to write apps that use websockets, and
 is not useful by itself.
 .
Emacs IPython Notebook, Emacs Realtime Markdown Viewer, Kite,
Markdown-preview-mode, and Atomic Chrome for Emacs use this library.

I have started packaging this software because it is a prerequisite
for Atomic Chrome for Emacs (RFP Bug #909336). I will soon use it. I
am not aware of a package with similar functionality.

If my experience with Atomic Chrome for Emacs is good then I plan to
maintain both packages as part of the Debian Emacsen Team. I will
need a sponsor for the initial upload.

Nicholas

* Package name: r-cran-patchwork
  Version : 1.0.0
Upstream Author : Thomas Lin Pedersen
* URL : https://cran.r-project.org/package=patchwork
* License : MIT
  Programming Lang: GNU R
Description : GNU R the composer of plots
The 'ggplot2' package provides a strong API for sequentially
building up a plot, but does not concern itself with composition of multiple
plots. 'patchwork' is a package that expands the API to allow for
arbitrarily complex composition of plots by, among others, providing
mathematical operators for combining multiple plots. Other packages that try
to address this need (but with a different approach) are 'gridExtra' and
 'cowplot'.

  Description : GNU R robust variance meta-regression
Functions for conducting robust variance estimation (RVE) meta-
regression using both large and small sample RVE estimators under
various weighting schemes. These methods are distribution free and
provide valid point estimates, standard errors and hypothesis tests even
when the degree and structure of dependence between effect sizes is
unknown. Also included are functions for conducting sensitivity analyses
under correlated effects weighting and producing RVE-based forest plots.

Did some basic testing, and looks good to me, so I'm looking forward
to see it officially in Debian! (when passed the NEW queue).

I think there is just open if python-b4 is ocrrect or as Santiago
pointed out it needs to be b4. But b4 is quite short and might cause
conflicts.

Many thanks for having done the work!

Salvatore

If you would really want your name to be removed, maybe we can do so
with the next release.

I have pushed my changes here[1], with the updated version.
I'm not a member of go-team yet, would be great if you could add-me-in
on salsa, so I may maintain + push directly.
My username is: gi-boi-guest
I would also appreciate if you could review and sponsor the package.

PS: The CI might fail on my runner, since it needs Micheal's runner as
can be seen in yml file. I'm confident
that it will pass there, i.e. on the team-repo, as I saw with this Merge
Request too[2]. (Just for reference here)

For Now, I have added in my name, along, that should work well.
If you really don't want your name in d/control ,I'll so the needful in the
next release.

> Feel free to contact me with any questions. Also note that I always

I have pushed my changed to my local fork here[1], with updated version.
I'm not a member of go-team yet; could you add me on salsa, or give me push
access to the package
in go-team?
That would be great.
Need review and sponsorship for this package as well.

PS: The CI might fail on my runner, since it needs Micheal's runner, as can be
seen in yml file. but I'm confident it will pass
when pushed to golang team. I observed the same thing in this Merge Request[2].

Bug#954406: ITP: parlatype-libreoffice-extension -- Control Parlatype from LibreOffice

2020-03-21 Thread Gabor Karsay
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Gabor Karsay

* Package name: parlatype-libreoffice-extension
  Version : 2.0
  Upstream Author : Gabor Karsay
* URL : http://www.parlatype.org/
* License : GPL-3+
  Programming Lang: Python
Description : Control Parlatype from LibreOffice

Controls Parlatype from within LibreOffice. Adds a toolbar to link the
current media file to the document and lets Parlatype go to timestamps on
mouseclick or key navigation. A set of macros can be assigned to shortcuts,
 e.g. inserting timestamps.

The Parlatype source package provided a set of LibreOffice macros through
its parlatype-libreoffice-helpers package. Those macros were turned into
an extension and split off from the source package.

parlatype-libreoffice-extension supersedes parlatype-libreoffice-helpers.

I am upstream author and in Debian sponsored maintainer of Parlatype.
