Re: [Declude.JunkMail] [Declude.Virus] Welcome Back Scott

2004-05-24 Thread R. Scott Perry

Glad to see you back. Got a question on domainblack list. What is the type
for it? IP4r? IPBLACK? DomBLACK? what?
There is no domain blacklist -- what Declude JunkMail has is a sender
blacklist, which can blacklist the sender based on their E-mail address or
domain. You can use a line such as:

TESTNAMEfromfileC:\IMail\Declude\badaddresses.txt x
5 0

to define the test.
Also on the domain names, do I need to have the @ sign in front of each one?
That's up to you. If you use the @example.com format, it will catch
E-mail from [EMAIL PROTECTED] (but not from [EMAIL PROTECTED]). If
you use the .example.com format, it will catch E-mail from
[EMAIL PROTECTED] (but not from [EMAIL PROTECTED]). If you aren't
sure which to use, you can use both.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but you can also use the ipfile test to block
sender's IPs. While the fromfile works well if the sender domain matches
the from domain, we also use the ipfile where spammers are registering new
domains constantly for their from address, but not rotating their
mailservers addresses.

It might be nice to allow domains in the ipfile test, though. It would
simplify file maintenance and allow detection if a mailer uses that domain
on another ip address.

Darin.
