as the focus and the unique element in LO is on the sidebar I would prefere
to add an open dokument previewer in the sidebar for all open dokument
types.

Exactly, nowadays, we have more width than height, so, the users will have
another vision of work space, that is the point... we can use this areas to
apply menu bars and others functionalities, keeping show/hide side bar.

This would break using Alt+Tab to switch between documents, and there is
no internal-to-application tab-switching standard key. Some use
Ctrl+Tab, some others use whatever they want.

Also, the proposal didn't include a way to detach tabs. This would break
the ability to place documents side by side. This is particularly useful
in dual-screen workstations.
