[Bug 133795] AT-SPI implementation not delivering focus: events when navigating icons in Add to panel dialog in gnome-panel
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-panel From the original bug filed on gnome.org's bugzilla: http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=468612 When arrowing around the icons in the Add to panel dialog, I notice that no focus: events are delivered. In analyzing the dialog hierarchy using at-poke and/or accerciser, I do notice that the icons present the STATE_FOCUSABLE and STATE_FOCUSED events. When a state changes to STATE_FOCUSED, a focus: event should be emitted. The gnome-panel team indicated that this was a Ubuntu bug. I have since confirmed that this bug does not exist when using gnome-panel from GNOME's svn trunk. It seems that the Ubuntu patched version is preventing these events from being emitted. Without these events, screen readers such as Orca cannot provide access to the selected item/applet. ** Affects: gnome-panel (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- AT-SPI implementation not delivering focus: events when navigating icons in Add to panel dialog in gnome-panel https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/133795 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug contact for gnome-panel in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 133796] Visible/showing icons in Add to panel dialog should have both VISIBLE and SHOWING states set
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-panel From the original bug filed in gnome.org's bugzilla: http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=468613 When analyzing the icons in the Add to panel dialog using at-poke and/or accerciser, I notice the icons showing on the screen only have the AT-SPI VISIBLE state. Icons showing on the screen should have both the state SHOWING and VISIBLE states. The gnome-panel team indicated that this was a Ubuntu bug. I have since confirmed that this bug does not exist when using gnome-panel from GNOME's svn trunk. It seems that the Ubuntu patched version is preventing this state from being exposed. [Bug 132556] Re: evince causes high X load while searching
I am not sure if this is a duplicate of bug #122786. The (separate) issue with the radeon driver may very well be that bug (so thanks for pointing this out and I will have a look), but I think it remains the question why is evince putting so much load on the xserver during searching (in which graphically nothing but the progress count changes) to trigger this graphics bug and slow down the search it self? (The rest of this comment is pure speculation so most likely wrong) Could it be, that something during search is constantly causing a redraw of too much of the screen? In an attempt of profiling the problem, one of the highest ranking functions in evince was ev_view_expose_event. Although the actual time was somewhere in the sub permil range, so could very well be noise. Most time was spent in libfb.so (when using the radeon driver). Also I didn't have the debug symbols of poppler, as there doesn't seem to be a dbg package of it in the gutsy repository. thanks for looking into this -- evince causes high X load while searching https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/132556 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 128174] Re: Can't close a particular item in the alarm-notify list
Regarding your following comment, snip Rereading your last comment... it seems what you want is to: given a collection of triggered alarms, select a subset and close this subset; this action would then (implicitly) renew the rest of the collection for another round /snip I am not expecting the 'rest of the collection' to implicitly renew (I guess you mean snooze here). Instead I want it to remain there in the alarms list dialog box and don't want it to vanish for x amount of time (which will happen by clicking snooze). You might understand what (or why) I am asking (this) after knowing my way (or a group of users' way) to to handle this (alarms) feature. When a set of alarms pop up in a list, I usually prefer the list to remain in the dialog (instead of snoozing after every x amount of time) and close selective items as and when the work related to that item is finished. Currently I have to snooze all the unfinished items to close the targeted item. So in short the feature requested is I don't want to snooze any of the items but close only selective items and the remaining items should persist in the dialog till I close them (instead of getting vanished for some time by snoozing them). It might seem rather personal/unnecessary feature and you can close this request if you are not convinced to buy this idea. [Bug 78809] Re: Randomly crashing (SIGSEGV/SIGPIPE)
I haven't seen the Firefox crash and won't restart since 10 Jul, or the one-off Firefox crash since 26 Jul. However due to the intermittent nature of the problem, it is impossible to be sure whether it has really gone away. On 31 Jul, the computer was moved from a university network to an ADSL/router home network. To get it to work there IPv6 was disabled in Firefox about:config. SophosAV was also removed and replaced with ClamAV. I have however had a gnome-panel crash today; a Bug Buddy window opened, both top and bottom bars disappeared, and a few seconds after Bug Buddy was closed the bars reappeared with the normal task buttons on the bottom but nothing on the top, but after a few more seconds another Bug Buddy window appeared and the cycle repeated. The open applications (Firefox showing uk.arxiv.org and gedit just opened showing a large tex file) appeared normal, and were successfully closed normally. The backtrace attached is from the second crash, as the first report disappeared when I right-clicked in it intending to copy and paste it. After a few cycles I rebooted the system. ** Attachment added: gnome-panel-bugreport.txt http://launchpadlibrarian.net/8913560/gnome-panel-bugreport.txt -- Randomly crashing (SIGSEGV/SIGPIPE) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/78809 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug contact for gtk+2.0 in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 133837] Missing preferred terminal emulator causes Nautilus to 100% CPU
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: nautilus Follow the steps to reproduce (everytime) in Feisty Fawn 7.04: Pre-requisites: Make sure you have the Nautilus Open Terminal package installed. sudo apt-get install nautilus-open-terminal Then: 1. Open Control Centre - Preferred Applications 2. Click on the System tab and select Custom from the Terminal Emulator choices. 3. Delete the contents of the Command and Execute flag fields (so both fields are empty) and click on Close to save. 4. Open System Monitor and go to the processes view and order the view by % CPU (descending) 5. Right-click anywhere on the Desktop to display the Nautilus context menu and select Open Terminal. After a very short period, Nautilus will start to load the CPU and will eventually hit 100% utilization. Nautilus freezes and no terminal window is displayed. Using killall nautilus is the only way to recover from this scenario. ** Affects: nautilus (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Missing preferred terminal emulator causes Nautilus to 100% CPU https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/133837 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug contact for nautilus in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
Re: [Bug 102129] Re: gamin does not seem to work
Right, I would have to check on that, but I am afraid it is still an issue. I don't know exactly because if I remember right, what I ended up doing was to create a new user and log in as this one from then on. So since I reported that to have happened after upgrading to feisty and I suspect there were only security fixes rather than bug fixes since feisty was released, I suppose the bug still exists. I suspect some old config from dapper/edgy is causing the problem, since the problem does not exist for a new user. -- gamin does not seem to work https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/102129 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 133838] ogg-encoded web radio stops
Public bug reported: Well, I hope this is the right package since I observed this bug both in Rhythmbox and in Totem. I'd like to listen to ogg-encoded web radio, but playback stops after a few minutes or even seconds. The player shows a re-buffering progress bar but doesn't resume playing. Additionally, the player cannot play any other file then but must be restarted. I _suppose_ this happens when the radio station transmits new metadata (song title, interpret). I am pretty confident that my internet connection is fast enough, and I don't believe either, that the server is streaming too slowly (happens with any mirror). How to reproduce: Go to http://www.kohina.com/ and pick any ogg server/operator. Open the stream in Rhythmbox or Totem and wait (No, the sound is all right. Those are chip tunes, no line noise *g*) ** Affects: gst-plugins-good0.10 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- ogg-encoded web radio stops https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/133838 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug contact for gst-plugins-good0.10 in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
