[Bug 221708] [NEW] Brasero doesn't read tags on added FLAC files properly
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: brasero Using a fresh install of Ubuntu Hardy 8.04, with Brasero 0.7.1-3ubuntu1 When adding FLAC files to burn to a CD in Brasero, the first file added will have its Artist/Track information read. Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-media Running Hardy Heron 8.04 with a Toshiba Tecra M7, haven't attempted to install any other drivers (couldn't quite figure out how). It's an on-board sound card, and by default there is no sound playing out of the speakers nor from the headphone jack. I am sure that the volume is all the way up from both the hardware and in Totem. [Bug 221527] Re: Location in Clock Preferences
Sweden isn't that small, I'm sure. GNOME Clock is based on cities (or whatever, if you specify your own longitude/latitude), but the installer only asks about the nearest capital city (I assume it lists large cities in nations where there's more than one timezone). It would do me no good to know what the weather is like in London, for instance, even though that's what timezone I selected - Europe/London. [Bug 216901] Re: Gnome-panel adds 18 minutes to evolution's calendar events
I've just install hardy and the problem is STILL there ! BUT I've found why : Evolution at first start up ask for a time zone, that's little strange because you do this at Ubuntu's install. But the time zone of evolution is not the same as Ubuntu. (or Gnome's clock) I'm in Reunion Island, so it's UTC +04:00. Ubuntu's clock is ok with that. But in Evolution, Reunion Island is UTC +03:41:52, so if you take your calculator, we have 18 minutes of difference. That's why I have 18 minutes more in my panel. Re: [Bug 221691] Re: Can't move window
Hi there, After I installed the emerald-thingy I could move the windows. The problem was present after a fresh and clean reinstall - except for the Home partition (Which I had to have fresh as I have lots of important data on that partition). The desktop effects was set to middle if I remember correctly. So you could say that the bug is not a bug, but at the same time that if compiz is enabled that Emerald has to be installed. -trond- On Fri, 2008-04-25 at 09:30 +, Sebastien Bacher wrote: Thank you for your bug report. [Bug 221795] [NEW] Sidebar forces Totem to grow larger than screen
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: totem When playing back a music file with a metadata comment (e.g. ID3 comment tag) spanning multiple lines of text, the file property view of the sidebar will always force Totem to scale to a height which is large enough to display all lines of the comment in the sidebar at once. For lower screen resolutions this often grows Totem beyond the visible screen/desktop area. As resizing below this height is not permitted, the playback buttons become unreachable. Proposed solution: Offer a scroll bar in the sidebar if the maximum desktop height has been reached and the file properties still do not fit into the sidebar. [Bug 202569] Re: panel crashes when opening calender
HI, The reason why I think it's not a gnome-panel bug is that I tried getting a backtrace using the wiki article on the link you gave earlier, running gdb with the options as per the wiki (installed debug symbols for gnome-panel, attached gdb to the gnome-panel process), and when I clicked on the clock applet to get it to crash, it seems like gnome-panel was still running (see attached gdb-gnome-panel.txt), hadn't crashed although the problem was there. I looked at the running processes and some other panel items were running in separate processes, but I couldn't find one for the clock. Maybe I'm just not using gdb right, it's the first time I tried it. [Bug 221849] [NEW] Nautilus crashes when trying to paste files
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: nautilus Something is wrong with Nautilus: it crashes when I try to paste files or folders. I had been using the Hardy Heron from the upgrade packages and I was having this problem. Today I installed it from the CD hoping it would work fine, but it's still wrong... I've been trying to sort when the problem arises and I've not been able to find a regularity. I've just seen that I can't paste folders from my external hard disk to my laptop's without Nautilus crashing; but if I copy the whole content of the folder, create a folder in my home directory and paste everithing in, then, it seems to work... When I try to paste files, some times it works; some other times, it crashes! Until I changed to Hardy Heron everything worked perfectly on my laptop. I hope you have all the information you need about this bug. [Bug 221849] Re: Nautilus crashes when trying to paste files
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. However, your crash report is either missing or challenging to deal with as a .crash file. Please follow these instuctions to have apport report a new bug about your crash that can be dealt with by the automatic retracer. If you are using Ubuntu with the Gnome desktop environment - launch nautilus and navigate to your /var/crash directory and double click on the crash report you wish to submit. If you are using Kubuntu or Xubuntu you can file the crash using /usr/share/apport/apport-qt --crash- file=/var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash in a terminal - where _my_crash_report.crash is the crash you would like to report. I'm closing this bug report since the process outlined above will automatically open a new bug report which can then dealt with more efficiently. Thanks in advance for your cooperation and understanding. ** Changed in: nautilus (Ubuntu) Status: New = Invalid -- Nautilus crashes when trying to paste files https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/221849 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to nautilus in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 220957] [NEW] Fails to see blank CD/DVDs for writing
You have been subscribed to a public bug: I'm using Hardy, with latest updates. Since upgrading from Gutsy to Hardy, I can no longer burn CDs/DVDs. Now when I insert a blank CD-R or DVD-R into the drive, the drive spins up briefly but nothing appears on the desktop. With Gutsy, up came the options to burn a disc. Also, if I manually click on an ISO for burning, then it asks me to insert blank media even though there already is one in the drive. When I run the cdinfo command from the cdtool package, it outputs, simply: no_disc Exactly the same as when there is really no disc. The eject command still works. I've tried two different brands of CD-R, and two different brands of DVR-R, all gives the same results. This is probably a software problem. I have just booted Windows XP a few minutes ago (not done that in months :-), and it detected all the blank discs fine, bringing up a menu of burn options after I insert them. I didn't actually try burning. Then booting back to Ubuntu Hardy (after XP), it doesn't detect blank discs. This problem is worst since upgrading to Hardy: all blank media is not detected. With Gutsy, I did see this problem with one brand of CD-R, but other discs were detected fine. The machine is a Fujitsu-Siemens Si1520, and the output of sudo hdparm -I /dev/cdrom: ATAPI CD-ROM, with removable media Model Number: _NEC DVD_RW ND-6750A Serial Number: Firmware Revision: 2.42 Kernel is 2.4.24-16-generic (current version in Hardy at the time of writing). Any other info required, please ask. Much thanks. ** Affects: nautilus (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Fails to see blank CD/DVDs for writing https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/bugs/220957 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to nautilus in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

You have been subscribed to a public bug: When the screen goes blank after a white after the screensaver session when the computer has been idle for a while, I'm unable to recover the screen. It's just black with the background light on. The machine is an HP tx1270eo; Hibernate works, suspend doesn't work (though that's not fully the exact problem here).
