[Bug 232485] Re: Vinagre impossible to uses de F1 and F9 keys o the remote computer
Probably the best thing would be to use a popup like vncviewer; in vncviewer, hitting F8 pops up a menu with the various settings, including an option to send F8. Furthermore, F8 is vncviewer's *only* keyboard shortcut, AFAIK. A VNC client is a bit like a terminal app. Its job is to stay out of your way so you can forget it exists. Just like gnome-terminal needs no chrome (no menubar, no scrollbar, no statusbar, etc.), a VNC viewer should have the bare minimum chrome (except for an F8 menu or equivalent and a way to connect) so that it stays out of the way. -- Vinagre impossible to uses de F1 and F9 keys o the remote computer https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/232485 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to vinagre in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
Re: [Bug 207072] Re: nautilus does not display samba shares for machines inside an ADS network.
Hi Seems to me that you're referring to another bug. What I've observed is that the Network is working but not predictably. For example, if you login and go to nautilus - network, it is empty. If you leave things as they are for 5-10 minutes, then try again, there are some things appearing. I dont browse the network, I usually map the drives directly with smbfs. However, I did notice this behavior so maybe you should watch out for it - leave it as it is for 5-10 minutes, then open Nautilus - Network again Maybe it is dependent on the number of machines on the network? For us it is more than 200... On Thu, May 22, 2008 at 2:47 AM, obscure_detour [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Well it fixed it for the most part. Thank you thanos for uploading the patched file. Nautilus also errors out if I type in smb://. If I simply type smb://host/sharename host being either the hostname or the ip address and sharename it works perfectly. Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. However, your crash report is either missing or challenging to deal with as a .crash file. Please follow these instructions to have apport report a new bug about your crash that can be dealt with by the automatic retracer. If you are running the Ubuntu Stable Release you might need to enable apport in /etc/default/apport and restart. If you are using Ubuntu with the Gnome desktop environment - launch nautilus and navigate to your /var/crash directory and double click on the crash report you wish to submit. If you are using Kubuntu or Xubuntu you can file the crash using /usr/share/apport/apport-qt --crash-file=/var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash in a terminal - where _my_crash_report.crash is the crash you would like to report. I'm closing this bug report since the process outlined above will automatically open a new bug report which can then dealt with more efficiently. [Bug 187127] Re: ssh always asks to unlock private key with no password set
My SSH key does have a password but nonetheless I dislike this window, because it interrupts my usual routine: $ ssh somehost ssh asks me for my passphrase, I realise that I haven't added the key to the ssh-agent yet. I press STRG+C... $ ssh-add I enter my passphrase into the agent $ ssh somehost ssh gets the key from the agent I also noticed that it seems rather random whether the dialog gets the focus; sometimes the focus just remains on the terminal window, potentially leading users to typing their passphrases in plain text into the terminal window. For me it means that hitting ESC will do nothing, and I have to use the mouse to close the window. That is just plain wrong: I'm forced to use the mouse to close a graphical dialog that pops up while I'm working in the terminal. I think the possibility to store the passphrase in seahorse is generally a nice feature, but it should not pop up a graphical window in the terminal. -- ssh always asks to unlock private key with no password set https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/187127 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 194552] Re: [Hardy] GDM starts with wrong display resolution
I have a similar problem. I'm using external monitor (native res. 1280x1024) connected via DVI to my laptop (native res. 1280x800). When I start GDM and login to the X without external monitor connected, everything is ok (both screens have their native resolution). When I start GDM, when the external monitor is plugged in, GDM detects wrong resolution (1152x864) and when I log to the X, the resolution is still 1152x864. xrandr -q detects my external monitor correctly, but sets the resolution to 1152x864 instead of 1280x1024. Running xrandr --output TMDS-1 --fb 1280x1024 doesn't help. The same goes for setting virtual 1600 1200 in xorg.conf. The only workaround I found is to unplug the external monitor before GDM starts and plug in the monitor after I log in to the X. I don't use dual screen, laptop lid is closed when I use external monitor. Any ideas how to fix this?
