Appending OnlyShowIn=KDE; to kfmclient_dir.desktop dolphin.desktop and

I wonder if removing OnlyShowIn=GNOME; from nautilus will do the same thing.

[Bug 253864] Re: Totem crashes immediately after playing a few seconds of my DVD

2008-08-01 Thread Sebastien Bacher
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu
better. However, your crash report is either missing or challenging to deal
with as a '.crash' file. Please follow these instructions to have apport report
a new bug about your crash that can be dealt with by the automatic retracer.

If you are running the Ubuntu Stable Release you might need to enable apport
in /etc/default/apport and restart.

If you are using Ubuntu with the Gnome desktop environment - launch nautilus
and navigate to your /var/crash directory and double click on the crash report
you wish to submit.

If you are using Kubuntu or Xubuntu you can file the crash using
/usr/share/apport/apport-qt --crash-file=/var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash in a
terminal - where _my_crash_report.crash is the crash you would like to report.
I'm closing this bug report since the process outlined above will
automatically open a new bug report which can then dealt with more efficiently.
Thanks in advance for your cooperation and understanding.

[Bug 175078] Re: Standard error should remain empty under normal circumstances

2008-08-01 Thread era
I am still able to repro on a Hardy box, yes.

I downloaded the codectest zip file. I removed the .rm and .swf files
as well as wheeliesorensonvideo2cbr.mov (because I don't believe there
are codecs for those; in any event, the codec installer buddy thingy
can't suggest anything for those) and ran totem on the remaining files.
This triggered a number of warnings immediately, and the codec buddy
came up and suggested I install the bad codec set (gstreamer0.10
-plugins-bad 0.10.6-5). I installed the suggested codec package, but
the player was still unable to play the first file, and kept on invoking
the codec installer again; however, it could no longer suggest any
additional codecs to install. After restarting, I was able to play the
media, however, still with warnings on standard error.

(The fact that you need to restart the player after installing a codec
is a separate bug #159130.)

Re: [Bug 138343] Re: evince consumes a lot of memory (1.5 GB VM)

2008-08-01 Thread Miguel Martinez
Is there really any chance of backporting poppler from Intrepid? I've
done a quick search in synaptic (I admit I don't know how to search for
dependencies via aptitude) and default ubuntu packages that depend on
poppler (and might need to be recompiled and put into backports) are
evince (obviously), cups, gimp and tracker. Other important packages
depending on poppler are inkscape, kpdf, krita and texlive-base-bin.

So, can other please test disabling the mouse plugin and

The problem still exists for me. I tried to make a bakctrace but it was
impossible for two reasons: I cannot find the debbuging symbols package but
even when I tried without them it seems that the program does handle the crash
itself and exits normally so when I type:

(gdb) quit

Anyway I attach my log.

[Bug 204249] Re: Evolution deletes and hides mail unexpectedly

2008-08-01 Thread bwallum
Hi Pedro

Bug still with me. These are the situation conditions.

An email group of people named A includes a person called X
Sent emails to X are filtered and moved to another sent folder called XFolder

Upon sending an email to group A the following happens:-

The email is deleted from sent and filed in XFolder

This presents a problem in that I can no longer look in the Sent folder
for emails sent to group A.

If I set up another filtered folder with a second person, say Y then the
position is worse. Email is deleted from Sent but not placed in either
YFolder or XFolder.

That lastparagraph is one outcome, it appears highly erratic and I
cannot get a consistent response.

I am happy to work with you on this one and will run tests as required.

Regards
Bob

I am using various accounts. But the same problem exists when I create a
new user. I tried the same on another laptop, same problem.

[Bug 236532] Re: exec format error

2008-08-01 Thread Adam Heckler
This happened to me too. The trick is to edit your script so that:

#!/bin/bash

is on the *very first* line.

[Bug 252851] Re: evolution -c calendar no search in all accounts

2008-08-01 Thread Sebastien Bacher
no, still not confirming, it takes time to go through accounts and the
statusbar indicates indexing but it does search correctly. maybe you
could open your bug on bugzilla.gnome.org directly since that's likely
an upstream issue and people who write the code might have better reply
there
