[Bug 207072] Re: nautilus does not display samba shares for machines inside an ADS network.
This issue has also caused me to switch to KDE. I was surprised an issue such as this existed on an LTS release and I'm even more surprised that it STILL exists. I was hoping this would be fixed for Intrepid, but unfortunately it's not. Who do we have to pay to get this done? There's no excuse for this still being a problem after 7 months so maybe throwing money at it will get it fixed. We can now mount archives (which is awesome btw), but we can't do something as simple as look at SMB shares on a server. Sorry for the little mini-rant, but I hope you can understand the frustration of this still being broken. [Bug 289762] [NEW] [intrepid] gimp crashes if I disconnect my drawing tablet while it is open
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gimp Ubuntu 8.10 gimp 2.6.1-1ubuntu3 Steps to reproduce: * Hotplug a wacom tablet using the new hotplugging support in intrepid (i.e. no inputdevice settings in xorg.conf, just relying on the default HAL rules in /usr/share/hal/fdi/policy/20thirdparty/10-wacom.fdi) * Start GIMP and make a new image, draw something with the tablet which should work fine * turn off / unplug the tablet * use your mouse to move the cursor from outside of the GIMP window to inside it expected GIMP acts as it would normally if the tablet was not connected actual result GIMP crashes, no error dialog or anything running GIMP from a terminal gives this message: The program 'gimp' received an X Window System error. This probably reflects a bug in the program. The error was 'BadDevice, invalid or uninitialized input device'. (Details: serial 314305 error_code 168 request_code 148 minor_code 30) (Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously; that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it. To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.) [Bug 289328] Re: gnome-terminal menus have no mnemonics after upgrade to intrepid RC
Hmm. Since what version has /apps/gnome-terminal/global/use_mnemonics existed? Previously to the upgrade I never touched these options. Did gnome-terminal perhaps default to showing mnemonics once upon a time, but recently changed the default behaviour to hide mnemonics, and my system has been going on the default the whole time? I originally filed this bug thinking the mnemonics were lost in translation between 2.22 and 2.24, because I didn't know they could be turned off at all until I found that setting. If I knew beforehand that this was not the case, I probably wouldn't have bothered with a bug. Martin Pool, thanks for the f-spot -v hint, that works indeed. Anyway, eog is the default image viewer, so the experience with watching photos from nautilus is ok. [Bug 289721] Re: crashes when loading some webpages
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. However, your crash report is either missing or challenging to deal with as a '.crash' file. Please follow these instructions to have apport report a new bug about your crash that can be dealt with by the automatic retracer. If you are running the Ubuntu Stable Release you might need to enable apport in /etc/default/apport and restart. If you are using Ubuntu with the Gnome desktop environment - launch nautilus and navigate to your /var/crash directory and double click on the crash report you wish to submit. If you are using Kubuntu or Xubuntu you can file the crash using /usr/share/apport/apport-qt --crash-file=/var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash in a terminal - where _my_crash_report.crash is the crash you would like to report. I'm closing this bug report since the process outlined above will automatically open a new bug report which can then dealt with more efficiently. Re: [Bug 289648] Re: evolution message filter sender is empty matches everything !!!
Hi, * Is this reproducible? * If so, what specific steps should we take to recreate this bug? Yes it is, just create new filter, chose 'sender' 'is' and leave value box empty Action chose something like mark label importance. I did set another action to stop processing other filters, don't know if that is making any difference. Press ctrl + y on any selected message with regular sender. It will mark it with label. [Bug 289068] Re: evolution guide not translated
I think it could be a way to keep track of what there is still to do about translations. If for example a distro has zero bugs (not translation issues) but it has hundreds of software not translated, and not posted as bugs (as you say), we can think that there should be nothing to do for that distro (that is it's a perfect distro) but we could be wrong as a distro with bad translation is not a user friendly distro and it's, indeed, a bugged distro. I think a translation issue is a bug like a functionality bug (obviously it's a less important bug in comparison to functionality bug but this is another talk). A bug depending on manpower issue is a bug. Every bug depends on an issue (manpower, bad programming work, and so on) but bug poster shouldn't mind about this. -- evolution guide not translated https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/289068 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
