[Bug 417978] Dear friend,

2011-11-10 Thread Adam
Dear friend,
How are you? I found a website: www.xandeal.com,
there are a lot of electronic products on it, and the prices are
very low. Their compamy is holding a sales promotion for
celebrating the coming Chrismas Days and the New year's Day, you
can enjoy free shipping cost if you purchase during the promotion
activity. Hope you can seek some electonics you want. I have
ordered an ipad2.
Best regards!

*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 868032 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/868032

This is not a duplicate of bug #868032, though it is exacerbated by it.
This is about a lack of copy progress in the notification area, rather
than the copy dialog window skip flag.

[Bug 868032] Re: nautilus progress window marked skipped, not managed by gnome-shell

2011-11-10 Thread Didier Roche
** Description changed:

When running nautilus and doing a file transfer that brings up the file
operations window, I noticed that the window doesn't appear in the Alt+Tab
grouping for nautilus, and does not appear in the gnome-shell Windows activity
or even in the thumbnail for the workspace that the window resides in. This
makes it very difficult to find when there are many windows in the current
workspace, which is usually the case in my workflow.
+
+ test case:
+ 1. install the new version (1:3.2.1-0ubuntu4) from -proposed
+ 2. run gnome-shell
+ 2.1 make a copy
+- you should see the copy dialog in the pager
+ 3. run unity
+ 3.1 make a copy
+ 3.2 close all your nautilus windows
+ 3.3 click on the nautilus icon in the launcher - it should enable you to
launch a new nautilus window

[Bug 868032] Re: nautilus progress window marked skipped, not managed by gnome-shell

2011-11-10 Thread pdf
@julo - They're separate bugs that exacerbate each other. If one
worked, the other would not be such a problem. That said, I've tried
building 3.2.1 with all Debian/Ubuntu patches removed, and I still get
no notification, so #849733 must either be an upstream bug (the linked
issue from bug #849733 only mentions testing with 3.1.0), or a
packaging/dependency error. I've commented on that bug to the effect
that it's not a duplicate, and will update any further progress relating
to lack of notification there.

@tensorpuddin - Nautilus has been updated to conditionally use the new
persistent notifications introduced by gnome-shell (a la Empathy, et
al), so clicking the notification should display a nice progress list
attached to the notification area, if it was working.

[Bug 884503] Re: file-roller crashes with drag and drop with error Extraction not performed. You do not have the right permissions to extract archives in the folder

2011-11-10 Thread baltasarq
I confirm this bug, which is probably a duplicate of bug #878993. This
bug is extremely annoying, since not only file-roller gets frozen, but
the entire desktop.

The only workaround that I found was to press alt-f1 in order to get
tty1, login, type ps aux | grep file-roller and kill the process (kill
-9 pid_of_file_roller).

It it curious that anyway file-roller id not killed, but anyway,
everything comes responsive again.

[Bug 885939] Re: notify-osd causes the gnome classic session to fail

2011-11-10 Thread Sebastien Bacher
Jeremy, it seems the issue might be due to your change:

  * debian/patches/50_ubuntu_sessions.patch:
- Use notify-osd for GNOME Classic notifications. This also fixes
a bug where the GNOME Classic with effects session didn't work.

notify-osd doesn't have a .desktop launcher

it's worth noting as well that we have a
13_no_fallback_notification.patch, debian dropped that in their recent
version though

[Bug 881014] Re: terminal scrolling glitches

2011-11-10 Thread sharpkiddie
I can confirm the same redraw issues with gnome-terminal using gnome-
shell. It's difficult to capture as taking a screenshot seems to
trigger a redraw.

It only seems to happen when output would also trigger a scroll, but is
not reliably reproducable so can't comfirm.

I too am using non-free nvidia drivers on amd64.

[Bug 885266] Re: Enabling DAAP service crashes rhythmbox

2011-11-10 Thread Pedro Villavicencio
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. However, your crash report is either missing or
challenging to deal with as a .crash file. Please follow these
instructions to have apport report a new bug about your crash that can
be dealt with by the automatic retracer.

If you are running the Ubuntu Stable Release you might need to enable
apport in /etc/default/apport and restart.

If you are using Ubuntu with the Gnome desktop environment - launch nautilus
and navigate to your /var/crash directory and double click on the crash report
you wish to submit.
If you are using Kubuntu or Xubuntu you can file the crash using
/usr/share/apport/apport-qt --crash-file=/var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash in a
terminal - where _my_crash_report.crash is the crash you would like to report.

I'm closing this bug report since the process outlined above will
automatically open a new bug report which can then dealt with more
efficiently. Thanks in advance for your cooperation and understanding.

2011-11-10 Thread Sebastien Bacher
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make

description didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful
to read How to report bugs effectively
http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful
if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem.

We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at
http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures

At a minimum, we need:
1. the specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the
problem,
2. the behavior you expected, and
3. the behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible).
Thanks!

[Bug 883540] Re: Rhythmbox crashes (sefault) when accessing a removable media's properties via context menu

[Bug 577563] Re: Automatic login fails and computer hangs (Lucid)

2011-11-10 Thread Milan Bouchet-Valat
Speaking as the (former) maintainer, this is really a bug in users-
admin, but it's no longer developed since it's been replaced with the
new GNOME control center applet upstream. (The new applet doesn't allow
setting a password-less account.) If the bug had been reported against
the gnome-system-tools, I'd had fixed the bug back in 2010, but now,
it's too late for me... :-/

I don't think the workaround should be added in GDM, because I don't
think it would be easy due to how PAM works.

[Bug 824172] Re: Empathy doesn't allow to create Jabber accounts with only one symbol between @ and .

2011-11-10 Thread Aldo Nogueira
My account name in the internal jabber of my work is aldo@hostname. It
used to work in previous releases. In 11.10, I had to add .company.com
to it to be able to create the account in Empathy. This regex is too
restrictive.

[Bug 864861] Re: it wont let me download anything and some how the path for downloading was directed to unbuntu app center

2011-11-10 Thread Sebastien Bacher
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. Unfortunately, we cannot work on this bug because your
description didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful
to read How to report bugs effectively
http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful
if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem.

We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at
http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures

At a minimum, we need:
1. the specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the
problem,
2. the behavior you expected, and
3. the behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible).
Thanks!

[Bug 888355] Re: users-admin should not allow creation of users with encrypted home who aren't asked for password on login

2011-11-10 Thread Milan Bouchet-Valat
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 577563 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/577563

Indeed. But users-admin is no longer developed, since it's been replaced
with the new GNOME control center applet upstream. (The new applet
doesn't allow setting a password-less account.)

I don't think the workaround should be added in GDM, though, because I
don't think it would be easy due to how PAM works. So I'm marking this
bug as duplicate of the other, and moving the other to gnome-system-
tools.

[Bug 859407] Re: opening a directory and going back shows the previously entered directory twice

2011-11-10 Thread Sebastien Bacher
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. The issue you are reporting is an upstream one and it
would be nice if somebody having it could send the bug to the developers
of the software by following the instructions at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/Upstream/GNOME. If you have done so, please
tell us the number of the upstream bug (or the link), so we can add a
bugwatch that will inform us about its status. Thanks in advance.
