[Bug 1987076] [NEW] Mouse cannot control windows after suspend and display change
Public bug reported: My setup is this: Ubuntu: 22.04.1 LTS (Vanilla Gnome session on Wayland) Laptop: Lenovo ThinkPad P14s Gen 2a (AMD). Display: Lenovo T34w-20, connected via USB-C The problem started with upgrade to 22.04 I have had the same exact problem with my previous laptop, a ThinkPad T14s. Both of these are AMD laptops, but I had no problem on 21.10. Way I can usually reproduce (always?) 1. Suspend my laptop by yanking out the USB-C cable. 2. Resume the laptop by connecting a different monitor (same make and model, but not the same physical one) and hit the keyboard a few times. Note: Resuming on the same physical display does not seem to result in the same problem. After this, I can no longer control the Windows on my desktop. The mouse cursor is active, but moves behind the open windows, and mouse click is not registered (at least not in a way that is useful). I can navigate the windows and use the applications, using the keyboard. Ctrl+Alt+F1 to get to GDM, the mouse works fine. Going back the the real session, mouse is still "broken". Ctrl+Alt+F2 to get to a TTY, and going back to the original session, mouse is still "broken". Only way I have found to reliably restore functionality is a reboot (which I have been doing a lot of the last few months). Please let me know what else I can provide you with, in order to get this fixed. :) ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 22.04 Package: mutter 42.2-0ubuntu1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 5.15.0-46.49-generic 5.15.39 Uname: Linux 5.15.0-46-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.20.11-0ubuntu82.1 Architecture: amd64 CasperMD5CheckResult: pass CurrentDesktop: GNOME Date: Fri Aug 19 10:32:48 2022 InstallationDate: Installed on 2022-05-20 (91 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 22.04 LTS "Jammy Jellyfish" - Release amd64 (20220419) SourcePackage: mutter UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) ** Affects: mutter (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug jammy wayland-session -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to mutter in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1987076 Title: Mouse cannot control windows after suspend and display change To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mutter/+bug/1987076/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1966635] Re: can't move file/directory by drag and drop by using touch monitor
After some checks, it seems because data_device_start_drag() doesn't support MetaWaylandTouch. The fix will impact the mutter architecture and it's more likely a feature request in mutter so far. It can be workaround by either sync MetaWaylandPointer motion and MetaWaylandTouch when meta_wayland_seat_update() or meta_wayland_seat_handle_event() with some tweaks. or some changes in meta_wayland_data_device_start_drag(). As maintainer mentions[1] the drag feature is refactoring part.1: https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/mutter/-/merge_requests/2068 part.2: https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/mutter/-/merge_requests/2099 part.3: https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/mutter/-/merge_requests/2100 and this issue might be fixed in part.5... For both workaround look not suitable with the maintainer's design. I prefer to wait until the refactoring completed by maintainer. [Bug 1985972] Re: App drawer app name line separation
Thanks for the bug report. This hyphenation (which only seems to happen at display scale 100%) appears to be correct. There is no other way to fit a long word in a confined space. But I think you're suggesting a more grammatically correct location for the hyphen, and I'm afraid that's not feasible because it needs to be done by simple text formatting code that does not understand/interpret English. If there is any solution here then I suggest it should be fixed in the Simplenote app - ask the author to insert a zero-width space (unicode U+200B) between "Simple" and "note" so that GUIs will automatically break it in the correct location. ** Changed in: gnome-shell (Ubuntu) Status: New => Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-shell in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1985972 Title: App drawer app name line separation To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/1985972/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1985972] [NEW] App drawer app name line separation
You have been subscribed to a public bug: Whenever you open the app drawer and an app has a name that is long than one line it attempts to separate it in an odd, non-grammar-conforming way (neither for German nor English). For example, the app "Simplenote" is not divided into "Simple-" and "note" but rather into "Simplenot-" "e" which looks rather odd and unpolished. Even if my appdrawer does not use the default ubuntu font it should correctly separate. ** Affects: gnome-shell (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: appdrawer bot-comment gnome-shell -- App drawer app name line separation https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1985972 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-shell in Ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 1984041] Re: 界面卡死
Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Your bug report is more likely to get attention if it is made in English, since this is the language understood by the majority of Ubuntu developers. Additionally, please only mark a bug as "security" if it shows evidence of allowing attackers to cross privilege boundaries or to directly cause loss of data/privacy. Please feel free to report any other bugs you may find. ** Information type changed from Private Security to Public ** Changed in: gnome-shell (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-shell in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1984041 Title: 界面卡死 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/1984041/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
