[Bug 2011350] Re: ERROR:../src/nautilus-gtk4-helpers.c:116:gtk_widget_get_first_child: assertion failed: (GTK_IS_CONTAINER (widget))

2023-05-03 Thread Marcus Aurelius
Steps to reproduce:

(on my machine they work everytime but I couldn't reproduce on a virtual
machine)

1. Open the file browser (Nautilus) from the dock.
2. Shift+click the same icon on the dock to open another window.
3. Ctrl+T to open a new tab in one of the Nautilus windows.
4. Click on the previous tab, the one that was selected before pressing Ctrl+T.
5. Close the window.

Result:

Both Nautilus windows closed, indicating a crash.

Expected:

Just one window closed, the other Nautilus window should remain.

Title: nautilus crashed with SIGABRT in g_assertion_message_expr()

Sometimes Nautilus crashes when closing a window instead of exiting
cleanly. It wouldn't be so bad if it didn't bring other windows down
  too.

- It usually happens when the window has multiple tabs and/or they contain
- lots of pictures. It may be related to the thumbnails or the image
- viewer.
+ It usually happens when the window has multiple tabs.

I tried to attach the crash log but it looks like apport only attached
generic system info. I may have used the wrong apport command so I
attached the .crash file manually. I'm not sure if it has all the
  necessary symbols tho.

[Bug 2013216] Re: Single click on title bar does not transfer focus to target window (server side decorations in Xorg sessions)

2023-05-03 Thread Scott Wilson
Is there any specific date that Gnome 44.1 will be released for Lunar?

Also, FYI only, I've noticed that Firefox (snap, version 112.0.2-1, rev
2605) doesn't seem to suffer the same issue as other application
windows. I wonder why that is?

[Bug 2018155] Re: gnome-magnifier prevents starting a graphical session

2023-05-03 Thread Daniel van Vugt
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. It sounds like some part of the system has crashed. To
help us find the cause of the crash please follow these steps:

1. Look in /var/crash for crash files and if found run:
ubuntu-bug YOURFILE.crash
Then tell us the ID of the newly-created bug.

2. If step 1 failed then look at https://errors.ubuntu.com/user/ID where
ID is the content of file /var/lib/whoopsie/whoopsie-id on the machine.
Do you find any links to recent problems on that page? If so then please
send the links to us.

Please take care to avoid attaching .crash files to bugs as we are
unable to process them as file attachments. It would also be a security
risk for yourself.

[Bug 2018408] [NEW] Significant window drawing problems as VMware Workstation 17 guest.

2023-05-03 Thread QuentinHartman
Public bug reported:

Possible the problem is in another package, but gnome-shell makes the
most sense to me.

Observed behavior - Windows frequently render with no grabbable frames,
with misplaced black-boxes, "infinite mirror room" effects, z-fighting,
etc. Will attempt to upload screenshots later. Problem is most
pronounced in a Wayland session, but also exists in X11 session. System
is unusable in this state.

Expected Behavior - Windows and window decorations render correctly.

Steps to reproduce - Install Ubuntu 23.04 as a guest in VMware
Workstation (or player, likely) 17, using default settings on a Windows
host.

Other notes - Problem does not happen in KDE. Problem did not happen
(that I recall) under 22.10.

[Bug 1965123] Re: Active launchers area pixels (corners) missing

2023-05-03 Thread Danny Zolt
I sometimes encounter this bug when logging into a new Wayland session.
It doesn't appear to happen every time though. I don't know why this is
the case. I have tested it on multiple X.org sessions, but I have been
unable to replicate it there. I don't know if X does not have the
issue, or if I am just "lucky" here.

[Bug 2008355] Re: Unable to set fractional scaling on three monitor setup

2023-05-03 Thread Alex Wilson
I have the same problem (two 1080p displays and one 3k display). Would
that workaround work with wayland?

[Bug 2017027] Re: Sound device missing (monitor)

2023-05-03 Thread Keith Lewis
This bug also hit me in early April, on Jammy (Ubuntu 22.04.2 LTS).
Settings->Sound suddenly had only the S/PDIF option; HDMI/DisplayPort
was gone, as well as the analog option.

Upgrading to Kinetic and then Lunar brought back HDMI/DisplayPort, which
is the device I need. The analog line output is still missing, as are
the analog mic and line inputs.

Just wanted to mention the bug affects the most recent LTS release, and
even the Lunar is still missing the analog devices.
