[Bug 2033930] [NEW] unable to remap keybinding Left after upgrading to ubuntu 23.10

2023-09-01 Thread Ramses Rodriguez Martinez
Public bug reported:

Since upgrading to 23.10 my custom keybindings using Super,
Super are not working (they keep using the default settings).

For example:

gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.wm.keybindings switch-windows
"['Left']"

Even when this is set the keybinding keeps doing the default behavior
"View split on left"

However using other keybindings works ok, e.g:

gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.wm.keybindings switch-windows "['Left']"
gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.wm.keybindings switch-windows "['']"

both works as intended, only Left and Right are not
working.

Same behaviour using the graphical client to change the settings.

[Bug 2033902] [NEW] GNOME screen sharing completely borked with recent Mantic updates

2023-09-01 Thread Jonathan Kamens
Public bug reported:

The most recent Mantic turned off Screen Sharing, which was previously
turned on.

When I go to turn it on in the sharing control panel, i see that sharing
is completely disabled, i.e., the rocker switch at the top of the window
is off, presumably because the only kind of sharing I had enabled was
screen sharing, i.e., I didn't have media sharing enabled, so presumably
once screen sharing was turned off sharing in general turned off.

So I turn that top rocker switch back on, and now I need to configure
screen sharing, which still says it's off, so I click on that.

The window that comes up says VNC, which is *VERY* strange since we
quite a while ago switched from VNC to RDP, right? Why has it reverted
to VNC?

But in any case I can't do anything at this point. The rocker switch in
the upper left corner of the screen sharing pop-up won't let me turn it
on. The rocker switch next to my network connection won't let me turn it
on. And there's no way to close the pop-up! I have to kill the settings
app to make it go away at this point.

This is bad.

[Bug 2033901] [NEW] gnome-shell regularly showing the "Oops! Something went wrong/ logout" screen after Alt-F2 r RET

2023-09-01 Thread Jonathan Kamens
Public bug reported:

With the most recent Mantic updates gnome-shell is regularly, but not
every time, crashing and showing me the "Oops!" screen and forcing a
logout when I type Alt-F2 r RET (using X11, obviously, since AFAIK that
still isn't supported in Wayland).

[Bug 2013542] Re: [lunar] windows size/position is not saved for some apps

2023-09-01 Thread Francois Thirioux
Clearly I do experience this bug only using X11 (at the moment I have to
use Nvidia + X11 since Intel hdmi seems to be broken in new 6.5 kernel
and Nvidia + Wayland leads to an unusable desktop because of erratic
keyboard entries, erratic menu item selection and so on, e.g. with
Firefox snap).

The bug is not solved using X11.
I hit this using GS 45rc from Mantic.

[Bug 1986450] Re: Visual artifact 1px vertical white line right side of the wallpaper

2023-09-01 Thread Tarmo Turunen
An update since I have a new computer with a fresh, clean install of
Ubuntu 22.04.3 LTS...this may very likely be a theme issue. It is not
present when using the default theme. It appears when trying to change
the Applications theme to - for example - Ambiance (the one I would
prefer).

Consider this solved?
