[Bug 545062] Re: [lucid] icon in status bar not correctly transparent

2010-04-23 Thread Andreas Modinos
Divius,

I have one machine running Karmic that uses the English language settings and
another that runs Lucid in Finnish language and locale settings.
In Karmic, I don't get the problem. In Lucid I get the problem in regardless
which locale or language I select.

[Bug 554106] Re: Gnome Appearance Properties dialog hangs when changing desktop effects

2010-04-12 Thread Andreas Modinos
I concur. This bug isn't about Compiz or desktop effects at all, it's
about the preferences window hanging when trying to change the settings.
After installing the update, I no longer suffer the problem.

[Bug 387274] Re: Shifted printing with Brother MFC-260C

2010-03-29 Thread Andreas Modinos
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 293832 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/293832

I think this bug's duplicate status is incorrect. While the symptoms of
bug 293832 fit, the problem didn't go away for the original reporter
(nor myself) before running the brprintconf utility.

I have filed a new report for this as bug 550764 and nominated it for
Lucid.

2010-03-14 Thread Andreas Modinos
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 439448 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/439448

I have identified this as a duplicate of bug 439448. Doesn't have
anything to do with either Network Manager nor nm-applet, those just
happen to be the ones that are affected by the aforementioned bug.

** This bug has been marked a duplicate of bug 439448

[Bug 118605] Re: [fglrx] freezes upon Logout or Switch user [patch]

2008-07-03 Thread Andreas Modinos
I can confirm this bug on a Compaq nx6125 laptop (AMD Turion64, generic kernel,
Ati Xpress200M with fglrx driver).
OS: Ubuntu 8.04.1

I log in as user #1, then switch to user #2. If after this I log out
user #2, the system will hang with a black screen. I am able to move the
cursor, but otherwise the system is completely unresponsive. Switching
to another terminal will not work, nor will trying to restart X
(Ctrl+Alt+Backspace). I have to hold down the power button to restart.

I can provide the following information from my kernel log, it appears
the fglrx driver is in trouble right before the lockup occurs:

Jul 3 10:19:19 creature kernel: [ 523.982813] [fglrx:firegl_lock] *ERROR*

Jul 3 10:27:39 creature kernel: [ 814.770103] [fglrx] Receive disable
interrupt message with irqEnableMask: 20008000; dwIRQEnableId: 0001

Jul 3 10:27:41 creature kernel: [ 816.871877] [fglrx:firegl_unlock] *ERROR*
firegl_lock_free failed!

I checked to comments for a fix, but apparently they are already applied in the
latest Hardy updates?
At least my /etc/ati/authatieventsd.sh seems to match the spesified changes a
few posts back.
