[Bug 949810] [NEW] evince does not print

2012-03-08 Thread Nick Barcet
Public bug reported:

Everytime I try to print a document with evince, I can see the document
appear in the printer queue. It is then almost immediately marked as
completed but nothing is ever printed.

Printing the same documents with epdfview works flawlessly.

[Bug 464590] [NEW] Gnome-power-manager won't recognize I am on a laptop

2009-10-30 Thread Nick Barcet
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager

gnome-power-manager won't recognize I have a laptop by default meaning that:
 - it won't show the battery state when running on battery
 - it won't display the On battery power tab in the preferences
until some power event occurs such as:
 - plug or unplug power
 - I do a sudo service laptop-mode status
But a 'cat /proc/acpi/battery/BAT1/state' or 'info' always shows the same info
before and after gnome-power-manager displays the problem.

Laptop is an acer aspire-one AO751h. This behaviour does not occur on
other HW I have.

Re: [Bug 288393] Re: gnome-power-manager hangs for a while on Dell mini9

2008-12-02 Thread Nick Barcet
Quoting the workaround for clarity:

Source http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=963832#10
When I unchecked Reduce backlight brightness and Dim display when
idle under the battery tab in the Power Management Preferences the
g-p-m does not appear to stop responding anymore.
You'll need to set the backlight brightness manually by doing it this
way for now, but it should do the trick until a permanent solution is found.

[Bug 288393] [NEW] gnome-power-manager hangs for a while on Dell mini9

2008-10-23 Thread Nick Barcet
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager

I've been experiencing repeatedly a temporary hang on gpm. It caracterizes by:
 - info pop up not showing up when hovering over the icon
 - icon not updated when going to or from battery to plugged
 - icon not responsive when clicking on it to access the menu (left or right
click)
 - close lid or Fn2 does not kick laptop into sleep
 - closing the session informs that gpm won't quit and offers to force quit it
I do not know how to reproduce it appart from using the laptop normally. It
will occur at least every other time I need to use gpm.

While this is happening, stracing gpm show the following continuously:

[Bug 217984] Re: Totem exits fullscreen mode when playing from Samba share

2008-04-20 Thread Nick Barcet
I am not able to reproduce the problem either with quite a similar setup
apart from the video card (nvidia 8600M GT nvdia-glx-new driver). If
you do have a crash, would it be possible to include the crash report
(normally, it is automatically generated in /var/crash and a backtrace
following the procedure described at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProgramCrash ?

Thanks a lot.

Connecting to a mac, updating gtk-vnc to the version in your ppa did change the
error message to Authentication method to host xxx.xxx.xxx:5900 is
unsupported. (30), but did not solve the issue.
(I guess I did not need to reboot after applying the package).
