[Bug 558789] [NEW] evolution IMAP TSL shows header info; mail body not viewable
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: evolution My 10 beta system evolution lists email headers, but there is nothing in preview pane. If I double click an email, the email window opens but never shows the message contents. It shows an endlessly spinning loading wheel and the message, Formatting Message. Message never appears. I waited 30 minutes. I rebooted and tried again. All connections were IMAP using password authentication for IMAP connection to email accounts hosted with webhostingbuzz.com. No similar problem with earlier versions of Ubuntu. Re: [Bug 296494] Re: Gconf: Ekiga ignores port settings for SIP made with gconf-editor
Yannick: First of all, thank you for taking the time to respond to my bug report. I appreciate the effort. Although I stated it in my bug report, I should have highlighted the fact that I used both sudo gconf-editor and gconf-editor to make the necessary changes...Neither worked. Yet, when I retried the non-sudo approach (per your suggestion) on a box that I never before used ekiga on (or sudo gconf-editor on), it worked without a hitch. The odd thing is that gconf-editor on my other box (at home and momentarily inaccessible) did not allow me to change the settings when I did not use sudo. That's what led me to use sudo in the first place. This, as you pointed out, doesn't make sense for user-specific settings. Any way, I seem to have a problem with the gconf settings specific to one box. I see the bug report has been closed and that makes sense. I'll try moving my user's .gconf directory and see if it works... Thanks again, Bud Roth On Wed, 2008-11-12 at 09:28 +, Yannick Defais wrote: Hello, I think the issue is because you used sudo to change the settings: sudo gconf-editor AFAIK, gconf setting are saved on a per user basis. Thus running sudo gconf-editor will affect the root user, not the user you use on a daily basis. Do not use sudo, try this: gconf-editor, perform the same steps as you did and it should work. [Bug 296494] [NEW] Gconf: Ekiga ignores port settings for SIP made with gconf-editor
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gconf I am running 8.10 Desktop on an Intel quad core with Linux 2.6.27-7-generic #1 SMP (x86_64 GNU/Linux). I want to run ekiga on the same box that I run Asterisk. Asterisk is a VOIP PBX that listens on port 5060 for incoming SIP connections. Ekiga is a soft phone that listens on port 5060 for incoming SIP calls forwarded by its PBX (Asterisk). To deconflict, Ekiga must listen on port 5061 (or some other port) and Asterisk must know to forward calls on that port for the local softphone. I set port=5061 in the asterisk sip.conf file to allow it to forward calls to port 5061 when destined for the local softphone. I typed: sudo gconf-editor Clicked on -- apps -- ekiga -- protocols -- sip and changed listen_port to 5061 I closed out and opened up again. The setting was saved to the Gnome xml settings file. However, ekiga -d 2 gives the following output: 2008/11/10 15:22:05.605 0:01.187ekiga PV4L2Plugin detected device metadata at /sys/class/video4linux/ 2008/11/10 15:22:05.674 0:01.256ekiga Listen Error in UDP listen: Address already in use 2008/11/10 15:22:05.674 0:01.256ekiga Listen Could not start any UDP listeners 2008/11/10 15:22:05.674 0:01.256ekiga OpalEP Could not start listener: udp$10.1.1.135:5060 2008/11/10 15:22:05.808 0:01.390ekiga AVAHI Error initializing Avahi: %sDaemon not running Ekiga gives an error warning: SIP calls not possible. Port not available. Meanwhile the above debug output shows that Ekiga is trying to listen on port 5060, not port 5061. This means that ekiga is not using the settings changed with gconf-editor. Please note that I changed the UDP port range with gconf-editor and it ignored that too. Also, I tried to change the settings without using sudo, but get schema instead of a value for the keys and cannot change anything. Finally, I have reinstalled and retried to no avail. I also turned off the avahi-daemon, but nothing... This may be a separate manifestation of the bug reported in #203877. It appears that the gconf settings are ignored. ** Affects: gconf (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Gconf: Ekiga ignores port settings for SIP made with gconf-editor https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/296494 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gconf in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
