[Bug 35538] Re: clock applet incorrectly grabs data from evolution calendar

2006-08-02 Thread Martin Pitt
I just noticed that I suffer from the very same issue. Sometimes, but
not always, the clock applet's appointments from Evolution are one hour
off. So, if anyone from the Desktop team wants to debug that with me,
I'm available. :)

[Bug 35538] Re: clock applet incorrectly grabs data from evolution calendar

2006-06-22 Thread J. Scott Farrow
I'm seeing a very similar issue with Evolution on Dapper, except that my
clock applet is showing the correct times for appointments, and the
Evolution calendar isn't.

Versions:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ dpkg --list |grep evolution
ii evolution 2.6.1-0ubuntu7 The groupware suite
ii evolution-data-server 1.6.1-0ubuntu5 evolution database
backend server
ii evolution-exchange 2.6.1-0ubuntu2 Exchange plugin for
the Evolution groupware
ii evolution-plugins 2.6.1-0ubuntu7 All bundled plugins
for Evolution

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ cat /etc/timezone
US/Mountain
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ gconftool-2 -g /apps/evolution/calendar/display/timezone
America/Denver

Mail and appointments are hosted on an exchange server. If I view or
accept appointments through the Outlook web plugin, everything looks
fine. However, Evolution is listing the appointments in US Eastern
standard time, instead of Mountain time. Today, for example, I have
appointments at 10am and 1pm, but Evolution shows them at noon and 3pm.
I've tried resetting the Evolution timezone to no avail.

[Bug 35538] Re: [Bug 35538] Re: clock applet incorrectly grabs data from evolution calendar

2006-06-06 Thread Sinistrad
Sorry for the slow response:

I think the invitations are being sent wrong for some reason. I saw an
invitation for the same meeting fromt he same person (different date) that
showed up correctly, and one that did not. But it still fails to explain
why the clock applet shows it correct and evolution calendar shows it
incorrect.
The non-working event is like so (email addresses changed to protect the
innocent):

That bug is slightly confusing, could anybody still have the issue on
 dapper do that:
 - cat /etc/timezone
 - gconftool-2 -g /apps/evolution/calendar/display/timezone

 What time is used:
 - for the event when editing it (there is a menu option to display the
 timezone used)
 - on the calendar
 - from the panel applet

[Bug 35538] Re: [Bug 35538] Re: clock applet incorrectly grabs data from evolution calendar

2006-05-30 Thread Sinistrad
Sorry -- just ran across one that does not appear to be displaying
correctly.

The timezone in evolution calendar (when opening the event and clicking the
making sure the view-timezone menu option is checked) says the event is
scheduled at 1400 GMT-0700.
The clock applet shows the event starting at 1300.
The event *actually* happens at 1300. (I've verified that an outlook-using
recipient in my time zone shows this event at 1300)

When I originally opened the invitation mail in evolution, it was displayed
as starting at 1300 (but there appears to be no indication of a timezone)

It may be important to note that I am in a timezone that does not honor
Daylight Savings (America/Phoenix) and the invitations are coming from a
person who does (California: PST/PDT).

Let me know if there's any information I can get you.

[Bug 35538] Re: clock applet incorrectly grabs data from evolution calendar

2006-05-02 Thread Sinistrad
I also experience this (or similar) bug. When opening a calendar event sent by
email, The time displays correctly -- I click accept and it adds to my local
calendar. When I look at my local calendar, event times are one hour into the
future. When I look at the clock-applet, event times are correct. This seems
to happen when receiving invitations from people in PDT timezone -- haven't
verified other timezone sources. I am in America/Phoenix. Evolution is
configured to use America/Phoenix. /etc/timezone is configured as
America/Phoenix.

Dapper drake with the following package versions:

ii evolution 2.6.1-0ubuntu4
ii evolution-data-server 1.6.1-0ubuntu1
ii evolution-exchange2.6.1-0ubuntu1
ii evolution-plugins 2.6.1-0ubuntu4

ii locales2.3.15

[Bug 35538] Re: clock applet incorrectly grabs data from evolution calendar

2006-04-07 Thread Jane Silber
I see this bug too (in Dapper). My /etc/timezone was Europe/London and my time
zone in Evolution was UTC, thus probably explaining the disconnect.

However, shouldn't Evolution pick up the system timezone rather than having to
set it explicitly?

Another thought - this probably only started with the the change in clocks a
couple weeks ago. So if Evoluton interpreted Europe/London as UTC, then it
used to be right but is now wrong.

[Bug 35538] Re: clock applet incorrectly grabs data from evolution calendar

2006-04-07 Thread sagarp
my /etc/timezone and evolution timezone's match. i'm not sure what happened,
but one day i opened up evolution, and tried to modifty an appointment, and
then it crashed. when i restarted evolution, the times had shifted to match the
(incorrect) panel applet's times. so i changed them in evolution, and after
that the clock applet showed the correct times as well. i'm not sure why any of
this happened, but for me works finefor now =/

ps. all this happened spontaneously. i didnt update in-between or anything.
