Title:
[Latitude E6510] External DisplayPort does not work with Nouveau
  driver

Status in “xserver-xorg-video-nouveau” package in Ubuntu:
  Fix Released

Bug description:
Testing Oneiric on the E6510. During testing, attempted to connect a
monitor using the system's external DisplayPort video port. The
system was running nouveau. This port is completely inoperative with
nouveau driver. (it's also inop with nvidia_current).

The logs may indicate that the system is using nvidia rather than
nouveau, that is because I tested this with nouveau, then installed
nvidia_current to verify the behaviour and that's what's currently
  installed and running.

Jeff or Greg, can you try 12.10 and see if this is still an issue
(12.04.2 would be good as well).

Title:
[Latitude E6510] External DisplayPort does not work with Nouveau
  driver

Status in “xserver-xorg-video-nouveau” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
Testing Oneiric on the E6510. During testing, attempted to connect a
monitor using the system's external DisplayPort video port. The
system was running nouveau. This port is completely inoperative with
nouveau driver. (it's also inop with nvidia_current).

The logs may indicate that the system is using nvidia rather than
nouveau, that is because I tested this with nouveau, then installed
nvidia_current to verify the behaviour and that's what's currently
  installed and running.
