Hi Eike, Eike Rathke wrote: Why? Usually an UI localization is not locale (country) dependent, if there are no language differences between countries, and the language code is sufficient. Thank you for the suggestion. I am not familiar about how to connect a type of language to that of local data. What I thought was that there was am_ET.xml in the pool of locale data: http://svn.services.openoffice.org/ooo/trunk/i18npool/source/localedata/data/ So, I mistakenly jumped into the idea that that should be am_ET instead of am. Looking for other languages, I see: de_AT.xml for German in AUSTRIA de_CH.xml for German in SWITZERLAND de_DE.xml for German in GERMANY de_LI.xml for German in LIECHTENSTEIN de_LU.xml for German in LUXEMBOURG http://www.iso.org/iso/english_country_names_and_code_elements While a download file for German is: OOo_3.1.0_Win32Intel_install_de.exe Therefore, I was wrong about that. The language code 'am', instead of am_ET, is sufficient for Amharic. Is that correct? [l10n-dev] Updates on the processes we discussed previously ?
Hi Rafaella, all I would like to ask for updates on several points we discussed previously. There is no emergency on these updates, its only my curiosity that pinged me :-) - on the possibility to get the strings in Pootle updated more frequently and so to be able to provide more tests on our localization? - on the next version of TCM and the resolution of the issues that were pointed, or there won't be a next version but it is under QASTe further development? - Have you made other attempts to extract files from the wiki and process them to be able for l10n teams to use with their tools. Do you have a conlusion on this process? Thanks in advance for your time Kind regards Sophie - To unsubscribe, e-mail: dev-unsubscr...@l10n.openoffice.org For additional commands, e-mail: dev-h...@l10n.openoffice.org

An example for different UI localizations of the same language are Portuguese 'pt' and Brazilian Portuguese 'pt-BR' as a specialization. So even if there is a generic localization for one language a specialized country dependent translation is possible. Therefore, I was wrong about that. The language code 'am', instead of am_ET, is sufficient for Amharic. Is that correct? Yes, correct. Eike -- OOo/SO Calc core developer. Number formatter stricken i18n transpositionizer. [l10n-dev] Fwd: AutoText
Hi all, Can anyone explain what is the function autotext in openoffice? Thanks in advance, Nguyen Vu Hung. :D -- Phan Gia Anh Vu, EdD.
