Great,

FYI: with just a few simple adjustments QDox can be upgraded.
I'll provide a patch when the final 2.0 is released.

 no problem for me.
most of plugins are moving to 1.5 and core 2.2.x and 3.x are 1.5 too.

  Hi,

I'm investigating several projects which currently use QDox to see how easy
it is to migrate to QDox-2.0. The maven-plugin-tools is one of them.
One problem I'm facing is that the plugin-tools uses java1.4, while we've
decided to upgrade to java5 for QDox.
One of the open issues[1] will be fixed when using QDox-2.0, because it is
possible to scan the classpath for sources too. By adding the -sources.jar
as dependency it is possible to extend existing plugins.
Is there a chance that the plugin-tools will move forward to java5 too or
do I have to look if we can release with retrotranslated version for 1.4
too, assuming plugin-tools will still use QDox next to the
  Annotation-solution.

I don't see a good reason why not, quite a few other plugins moved to
1.5 by now, not to mention Maven core itself.
