It seems to me that the issue is hidden content is removed from the
emailed copy without notice when using the email feature, not that that
the wish is to un-hide.

I think the checkbox option sounds like a good solution.

The usual cure for sudden instability in OpenOffice is to make a new User
Profile. If using Windows do this by
renaming your OpenOffice user profile. As you are using Windows do this by
closing OpenOffice and the Quickstarter. Open File Explorer. Copy and paste
%appdata%\OpenOffice\4 in the File Explorer Address Bar (not the search engine)
and press Enter. Rename the "user" folder ("user.old" is a suitable choice).
Start OpenOffice.

If you have customised dictionaries etc, you can later bring forward the files
to the new profile

Good Afternoon,

I've been using open office for awhile now and lately it seems that it keeps
crashing. Do you have a suggestions to prevent this or explanation why it keeps
crashing? In the mean time, I have to keep restarting my computer to make the
program work.

My previous, successful, debug compile was revision 1734822, March 13th
2016, so the problem has to be something that has changed since then.

Re: Reporting broken download link

2016-04-25 Thread Jan Høydahl
Hi Bill (now on CC),

As I understand from your screen shots and description, you are taken to the
download site sourceforge.net , but then nothing
happens.
You click the “direct link” and still nothing happens, is that so?

What is supposed to happen is that download will start automatically and you
should see the progress in your browser.
Just tested here.

I’m not familiar with the Maxthon browser. Have you tried in another browser to
see if it works there?

Reporting broken download link

2016-04-25 Thread Bill Lemmond
My current version of Open Office told me a new update is available, so
I've tried downloading it, four times. I've been careful to be sure my
operating system (Windows) and language (US English) are selected, along
with the latest Open Office version (4.1.2). I've tried the main,
simple download button,

repeatedly. I tried the "direct" link,

and the link for choosing another mirror site.

My browser, Maxthon, has a download manager that still won't respond.

I had to wait an hour for Windows Explorer to search my whole laptop for
the latest version. It could only find 4.1.0 and 4.1.1, in an Open
Office sub-directory.

At no point has a message popped up, saying the servers are too busy,
with a suggestion to try in a few days or weeks. I won't be able to do
that, anyway. With my attention deficit and other disabilities, I can
only reliably remember daily and weekly routines. This is neither.

Please fix this mess. I'm sure you're all working hard, but I'm not
experiencing any of that.
