Editing a specific web page in cms is not working (was: changing the site for creating a issuezilla account)
Hello, the problem: I have opened the page https://bz.apache.org/ooo/createaccount.cgi and now open: javascript:void(location.href='https://cms.apache.org/redirect?uri='+escape(location.href) A login dialog is displayed and I enter my account name and password. Now an error page ("The website was not found") is displayed. What's going on? I do not have the rights to edit https://bz.apache.org/ooo/createaccount.cgi? Or what is the cause of the error message? note: The same procedure is working for for http://www.openoffice.org/de/ (for example), I can edit the website after logging in. Hello Raphael! Anybody should read, that issuezilla is NOT A HELPDESK /before/ one is creating an issuezilla account! Maybe we should remove all bz links at the User site *.openoffice.org* and only have a link on the developer page openoffice.apache.org This could (and IMHO would) be a good first step! :-) Regards, Mathias - To unsubscribe, e-mail: dev-unsubscr...@openoffice.apache.org For additional commands, e-mail: dev-h...@openoffice.apache.org

Re: changing the site for creating a issuezilla account
Hello Jörg! Inside the issue tracking system there are more and more users which searching for help how to use AOO. Do you have some examples? I would like to take a look at what's going on. I have closed some. But for an example https://bz.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=127303 is also a candidate. IMO AOO has the ability to solve his problem but in other ways. A style formats but count nothing. It would be a good task to change the text at https://bz.apache.org/ooo/createaccount.cgi There is no explanation, what issuezilla is! There is no guide for understanding what users can do and what they should not do! There is no hint for the very first step to find user forums for questions and discussions! I'm not sure what to do. Probably a short note is not wrong, but a longer explanations belong more to the local pages, such as: http://www.openoffice.org/de/dev/pre_submission_de.html I am also not sure whether longer explanations will bring much, for e.g. the German community (de-aoo) has tried for years to explain how to use our mailing lists correctly, unfortunately only with little success. The problem is that nobody knows how the people comes to issuezilla. Maybe a simple search at a search engine shows at first issuezilla. So you can provide informations where you want – the user will not get it. So the simpliest way IMO is to ask the potential new subscriber (a draft!) – If you need help for using AOO?
