Are you sure that --disable-activex is enough? There's also --disable-atl.

on m83 instsetoo_native can't be build because of a bug in the makefile, 
but the error message you have posted here looked different (but maybe 
you didn't post everything).


m84 will contain a fix that you can try on your m83:

there is nothing we need to do for the LIB variable as it is used 
already. The LIB variable is set in the environment of the linker when 
it is called. So whatever goes wrong in your build, it must have another 
reason.


Currently I'm working on Linux, maybe later I will have some time to 
check what's going on.


To exclude possible errors: does your build work if you build the 
libxml2 module, call deliver for it and then build libxslt?

Finally I managed to isolate the problem. It is a problem with case.

The Microsoft Visual C++ express defines the LIB environment variable 
(vcvars32.bat). The Cygwin system translates it to lowercase lib. Openoffice 
build system defines uppercase LIB, and leaves lib untouched. When the 
Microsoft compiler and linker is run, and both the uppercase LIB and lowercase 
exist, the conversion Unix environment - Windows environment passes lowercase 
lib.

Setting under cygwin LIB=${lib} and, most important, unsetting lib fixed the 
problem.

But I am afraid this problem may happen to any user. What should we do? Perhaps 
the lib (lowercase) should be undefined in the variables script winenv.set.sh.

No, not only unnecessary (see my last mail). It can't work because one can not 
put multiple paths under a single LIBPATH option. See

there is nothing we need to do for the LIB variable as it is used already. The 
LIB variable is set in the environment of the linker when it is called. So 
whatever goes wrong in your build, it must have another reason.

Currently I'm working on Linux, maybe later I will have some time to check 
what's going on.

To exclude possible errors: does your build work if you build the
libxml2 module, call deliver for it and then build libxslt?

the dpkg-deb program complains about wrong permissions.

please have a look at the file:
sysui/desktop/debian/makefile.mk

starting around line 85 you see some calls to chmod, to change the
permissions of the files.
please try to change these lines so it builds for you.

i would guess the chmod -R g-w should be replaced with chmod -R go-w,
but maybe that is not enough.

you can rebuild just the sysui module by changing into the sysui
directory and typing build.

if you can get it to work, please create a patch (hg diff) and create an
issue in OOo issuezilla, and attach the patch there.

interesting.
i don't know much about ntfs, but maybe it has a different concept of
permissions than ordinary unix filesystems?

i don't think this is really a supported build scenario.

maybe you should create some free space on your linux filesystem  :)

you should follow the building guide. If you do that, you don't need 
vc32vars.bat for building OOo. As an example, the mspdb80.dll is found 
through the --with-mspdb-path switch. Maybe that the documentation

  I am working with a product based company. We have a product
that uses MS-Excel with RTD functionality. Many of our customers are using
Open-Office Calc due to its ease of use and stability. Our team has also
found out that Open Office is quite easy and does not have any license
issue. We want to integrate Open-Office calc in our application but
we were unable to find the RTD like functionality. I am not sure whether
this is the correct email-id i am sending my queries to. Please reply if

You can implement an add-in function with a variable result, see 
http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Documentation/DevGuide/Spreadsheets/Variable_Results, 
and in that implementation, do whatever is necessary to get the results 
and notifications.
